For this Friday's gamenight so we can get the awful taste of E3 out of our mouths. What game we playan'?
I had an idea earlier this morning, it's a minecraft modpack based around launching missiles at each over of varying degrees of destruction. My idea was that we (me) either host a private server and just blow each other up, or invade a public server and blow up random 12 year olds and various normalniggers.

I can stream or do brackets. I'd rather do brackets so I could play myself but I'd be willing to stream if no one else can do it. We need to pick a game though. We did SF3 last time so it'd be fun to change it up with some KoF or G:MOTW. Maybe we could do SF4 on a pirated copy as long as people were willing to deal with steam to play. Or maybe we could do some Blazblue or anime game. I can put together a good copy for everyone to download of whatever we pick assuming we don't end up using Fightcade. Something on fightcade would be easier to manage.

There is a major tournament coming up the weekend after next and the 4th of July holiday is the weekend after that so both would probably be bad times to attempt to hold a tournament. I don't want to do it this weekend to give anons time to train/prepare for the tournament itself.
We'll most likely be playing something on fightcade so anons with toasters can play and we don't have to mess with stream for online play. If we can get enough anons to show up I might make it a regular thing and start doing it once a month with a different game. I'll be back soon with details.

Last time we used OpenJK, (fixes (((widescreen))) resolutions and runs on linux among other small fixes) and everyone has to have the same version as the server in order to connect iirc, so I ended up uploading a copy with it preinstalled. I recommend NoX by Westwood Studios. It's a blast and it's not the usual fare. It's like an arena shooter, only as a diablo-ish isometric game instead. There are three classes in the game, Warrior, Mage, and Conjurer. Game's a blast to play imo. Vid related, it's NoX in FFA Arena mode with the player playing a Conjurer. Game's also got capture the flag and flagball (basically soccer, but the teams try to kill each other to steal the ball) modes and co-op dungeon-crawling mode.

Both of the two also contain download links for Nox, but the top link has a barebones oldschool rip missing assets (and the secondary links for those files no longer work), and the bottom website only gives you a Spawn copy install (it's multiplayer only, so you don't get the single-player campaign). If you want the full version these days it's easiest to get the GOG version and use the install guide above to add the multiplayer functionality. For some shitty reason, the GOG version has disabled multiplayer by default.

Incidentally, Nox is currently on sale on GOG so it's down to $1.50 if you want to buy it. The money will only go to CD Projekt and EA (which killed Westwood), so if you wanted to support the original makers, it honestly makes no difference if you'd pirate it.
