I spent probably 8000 or more hours on my life on videogames. Do I regret it? Yes, mostly. Maybe 500 hours was worth it because I was a kid and spending times with my best friends but otherwise no.
Read 20 hours of a historical book and you have a profound understanding of world history compared to most people, certainly enough that any person would ever need without becoming an autist. 20 hours of fiction fantasy and you have great memories. Whereas 100 hours in witcher 3, I dont really recall anything aside from nice water graphics. 400 hours in Fallout New Vegas, mostly spent fucking around in the pip boy. 200 hours in Fallout 3, likewise. 600 hours in Civ 5 spent rerolling starts and savescumming and waiting for load times on turn 600 on epic speed. 1000 hours in mount and blade warband, never finished the campaign because the game breaks after day 700, loved multiplayer though. 1200 hours across dark souls and some good memories, but thats partly because it felt like an MMO whereas I've never played one. Also getting to socialize with other guys from 4chan when I was young and though imageboards were leet hackers was cool.
>why you like vidya over other media's
It was an addiction. I am glad I deleted my steam account. I should delete my origin and gog as well for good measure ,but since I literally destroyed my desktop PC it hardly matters.
>completing the main game only to find out that there are challenges you have to do to get 100% and they will test your skill in the game
Yeah I got like 98% in CoD 4, only missed a few intel tapes, but I had to return it to gamestop for my $8 back lol. Achievement hunting was really fun as a kid.
>a game is still fun even after you complete it for the first time (not with today's vidya)
Sometimes. I had a lot of fun with Deus Ex Human Revolution, Dark Souls I and II, but other games not so much.
>nothing can replicate making a anti-faggot crusade in an mmo and slaughtering niggers with your bros
Eh
>cut content that still exists in the game disc that is completely different from the rest of the game or adds layers to the game
Rarely
>modding
Few cases where modding is worth the effort of breaking performance
>Movies cant even compare
They definitely can, you should look at movies from Hong Kong, Egypt, India, and Japan.

Speedruns and letsplays and 'john wick' esque compilations have their fair place though.

Reading is a useful skill. Nonfiction exists in books more often than movies or videogames.

I unironically think anime is inferior to games, even though I watch more anime than games nowadays. Seriously, anime is like capeshit for recluses.
