Get an M.2 hard drive for your windows and for the games you like most or load slow. You'll be happy, and if you use any programs intensively it helps a lot. $150 for an M.2 and you get something like 500GB, its better than an SSD. I don't like spending $30+ for a case and PSU each. Though gold is good for the psu.

You can argue the 8700k does have marginally better single core performance then the 2600x and 2700x but the difference is so damn small it really does make you question the extra 100 to 150 dollar price premium

That case is overkill and not even particularly good at being a large tower case, would recommend the ThermalTake V71 (the one in metal mesh not the new version with full on RGB and glass panel faggotry) over it if you want a large well ventilated case, or something smaller because there's really no need for a large tower unless you have specific needs like extreme cooling setups or loads of HDDs.

PSU is on the high side but not outrageously so.

FYI that cooler is not shit. Look at the sustained 100% benchmarks for it compared to the huge noctua ones, I've got one on my PBO'd 2600x, but even OC'd to all-core 4.1 running prime 95 for 30 minutes temps were in somewhere in the high 80s, but they were pretty much 2C hotter than the noctua sinks that were $60 more, had worse ram clearance, would be more difficult to clean/maintain (for things like thermal paste reapplication), etc

They're actually not-shit. I don't know if it's because of the "le direct heatpipe xD" technology vs having a coldplate like the noctuas do, but damned if it doesn't produce results. Verify it yourself.
