We're actually getting pretty close to 1.0. Bugfixing is still undergoing, heavily at that, but we're slowly rolling out new features.

We've got a few things left for Climax to get to 1.0, and it's generally just tech stuff. 1.0 is currently a pretty low bar, but essentially we want to get everything from Dragonball to Z in the game, except for magic and some effects. (Fighting effects like being to stronk breaking planets and being able to shatter dimensions after being too-too strong is one of these. Boom Shout will be a Advanced Effusion skill.)

What's left:

- Bounty Computer (Bounties will not be the same as they were, bounties will be added in a new way.)

- ships (will be handled during the dungeoneering expansion.)

There's a lot of modules to add to the game, not as small of a list as above. Despite this, Nev has been very graciously working pretty hard on modules, and a lot of them on the list have been completed.

Bodyswapping is going to be a main focus soon, in that I'll be focusing on Ginyu-type, Dragonball-type, and Watashi/Baby-type. During this I'll also bring a few new race icons, and start cleaning up/using more of the icon folder we have in the git.

I see where you're coming from, but if everyone gets flight and power control etc. for free, then we have to balance around everyone having them. Right now you can get them fairly easily since you just need to invest a few points in the mind tree to unlock the ki control tree. Well we’re playing/developing a completely new game now seperate from DU. There’s too many changes to go over, so I recommend looking at the gitgud page and downloading it for yourself or just joining the new server. We haven't done mechs yet, but there are a few ways they could be implemented under the new limb system. You can see our rough roadmap on either the git or the wiki currently.

As for what's happening now, I'm currently working on overhauling ki skills and ki progression. One thing that's currently an issue is the use of ki as a resource. With power up changing to increase your current ki, I think ki skills should drain significantly more. That way using ki attacks will entail a tradeoff: do I spam attacks and lose my power advantage, or do I play carefully and make those attacks hurt from the power advantage? Currently there's no real downside to spamming ki other than using a beam for far too long. If anyone has any thoughts on a good way to make ki function as a resource without it becoming irritating, I'd be open to hear them.

One thing I'm thinking is we could make ki attacks have a high cost, but have ki itself regenerate quickly for a trained user. That way your ki still represents your "total" energy available at any given moment, rather than being something like a mana bar with a different name.

I plan on having buffs in the ki tree that will boost offensive power for greater ki cost, among other things. Hopefully this will add actual choice between buffs rather than "what will give me more bp?" I'm gonna tie the ki cost to the base drain rate, so it'll scale up with max ki but not linearly.

Been thinking of a way to implement this. We see instances of characters from DBZ not using that much power in attacks. Currently the only 'variable' in attack damage is for beams, and that's just how much you charge it. It'd also make higher energies more interesting, as the more Ki you have, the easier it could be to do more damaging attacks, as you could actually cope with drain.

Only problem is, there needs to be a good, fast way to change intensity without making it a number % prompt.

Essentially we're going for about three or so different types of mecha. (Or ERAs, if you will.)

1. First era of Mecha will be DB style mechas. Think the Red Ribbon skull fuckers or the like. Mechwarrior style.

These will basically be hittable Spacepods that give statboosts and have guns.

2. Second era of Mecha will be Gundam / Traditional mechas. This is the space era. You'll also start seeing mechas based off of the size vs speed tradeoff.

3. Third era of Mecha will be Gurren Lagann/Crayzee Mechas. This is post ascension shit, only for the diehard mecha player who stuck with it from day one. A special skilltree will be available, and your main stat will be Willpower. Other mechas from before this era would benefit from this skilltree, but not as much as these ones.

Eventually, you'll be able to select from several THAT'S NO MOON! options for techfags, one of which will be a final moon-sized ship/mecha. When God-ki hits, you'll be able to upgrade it further beyond.

From what I’ve been planning, I wasn’t going to make something like that to the wish list, but rather a sort of perk from being a vampire. Right now becoming a vamp/werewolf is as simple as clicking on a chalice on Earth. My plans include:

1. Unique and creative ways of unlocking the transformations, like the Stone Mask

3. Skill trees for vamps/werewolves that improve with time spent as one and blood obtained

It's not supposed to be that grindy, I forgot to multiply the usage counter so that active skill gains would be comparable or better than passive gains. Skills are supposed to be slow to hit "mastery" (i.e. level 100) but should be relatively quick to hit usable (level 50ish). Part of the point of this mini wipe is to find out what rate of exp gain will get us to that balance. I do see that it's currently taking too long to get to the "fun" skills, so I'll lower the level requirement to get there.

As to the Study Other issue, I have no idea how it could cause a character to roll back. It doesn't do anything other than check some variables on the person being studied and then give you exp based on that. It also automatically stops if the person leaves your view. I think it's more plausible that something is still going weird with saves occasionally, or something unrelated is causing the server to crash and THEN a rollback happens. It just seems strange that a verb that doesn't affect the other person could affect them to that degree.

Haven't checked in in a while. How goes the game? Is the lag still there? Still kinda want to hop back in ever since that wipe where King died for a long ass time and I kinda crashed the server with time stop and planet destroy but I've always found actual RP to be a lack of a better term, cringy and thus just spent all the time that I put into that broken wipe just playing around and shitposting with people. Never really been able to take the idea of RP seriously for a long time. Aside from stuff like Ace Attorney Online, I remember I was big into that for a few days despite never having played it until recently. Didn't even know how cross examination worked back then.

It's a combination of several things, mostly the large number of player-made items and tiles alongside byond's terrible map handling and entity deletion. I'm going to look into ways to possibly speed it up, but it's a tricky problem to solve in the system we're using.

I haven't noticed any real lag in a long while. Movement is as smooth as DU now, the Ki Overhaul's complete, and the game's really shaping up. Rules on RP on the server is pretty mild. If you want to fuck around you're welcome to as long as you're not purposefully exploiting or breaking shit, you're only asked to let RPfags do their thing. Honestly I never found RP to be very cringy outside of "realistic" settings or when its unnecessarily detailed/smut. Shit like GTA RP or anything that involves voice chat is fucking unbearable. Dragon Ball RP can be pretty fun since most people are fun to play with, and the tone can range from Jojo to Dragon Ball X to Frieza Saga.

If you're going to make everything rely on the average of every character in the database, make the fucking characters in the database only matter if they've been loaded within the last 3 days and be at a minimum BP to matter. Ah I just remembered a few things… Android modules continue to operate even when they run out of energy. So an android with the limit overloader can continue to be overloaded. But it's not worth using this module because it does so much damage that even 87's limbs become damaged and can't return to green until it's been turned off. It effectively doubles the power of the android, but because of their lack of buffs and their woefully inadequate powerups (20%) even one of the strongest androids with the overloader is dwarfed by other characters under powerup.

Also Focus has become broken. Focus no longer applies itself as a buff, and because it doesn't become the active buff, it no longer gains exp for the Ki Buff Mastery.

Only Humans can level beyond Gate One, and only humans can level up Hamon, which means only humans can get the benefit from it. If there was only one gate at this time, the gate issue would be trivial. But Manjew is going into the thousands because there's more than one gate mod at this time and he was able to brute force his mastery up easily.

Yeah, it's almost like the Kaio race would be competitive. As it is right now, in early game it's dominated by the humans. In late game it will be dominated by the Saiyajins because nothing competes with SSJ. This is a nice idea if you're writing a fucking TV show or a novel, but this is a game, and thus you need to have a thing called balance. If you don't have balance, then the game will become homogeneous by the user base all picking smaller pools of races and refusing to play the others. Then you get stupid questions like "why doesn't anyone play Android anyway?" Because they're fucking useless. The only thing that Androids have that separates them is Absorb, but oh, half the god damn races have absorb anyway. So the defining trait of androids is that they suck. We had an Arlian, and when he realized that there was no reason to play an Arlian, he stopped playing the Arlian race.

Since the only way to balance out the game would be God Ki, and God Ki is not even a thing at this time, the idea of fair balance by providing reasonable buffs seems like a pretty reasonable thing. The one race that should be weakest (aka human) is at this time the strongest because of impulsive ideas that weren't thought out. There's no NPC trainers to teach things, you don't have to specialize and lock out other buff types, so if you're a human you get to play Chink buffet and take every buff in the game if you so choose, and use whichever one is most convenient for the moment.

Androids have a "buff" but it's completely unusable because it will kill the android in a matter of 2 1/2 minutes, and continuously damages the android, softening them up for their opponent. Yes, any android can slot and use this buff in the early game if someone cam make it for them, but that doesn't make it a reasonable trade off. It's also a very destructive form of death, since it's LIMB DAMAGE and not HP damage, meaning you're going to lose your fucking arms and your legs before you die, which means you're going to lose your modules if it doesn't also turn you into a ball of wires in the afterlife.

Kaioken will probably work the same way, you'll take damage over time. But the difference is that organic races have far better regeneration, and every race has options. Except Kaios. Kaios get powerup, and their powerup starts buffeting their limbs when their energy starts to exceed 10,000, their regeneration being high makes up for this, but powerup will only go so far.

Alright, so I concede on the Hamon point. Apparently Hamon was gated behind some rather expensive skills in the spirit tree. I was wrong, and I admit that. But it doesn't invalidate every other thing I've said.

Alien is pretty broken, I can tell you that much. The stats menu is kind of broken too, it doesn't tell you what the value of their chosen stats are. When I selected "death regen" it doesn't say anything anywhere, it just goes back to the menu, and you can take death regen multiple times. Doesn't say what that does. I thought death regen would make them kind of like Majins and Androids where they don't need to eat, so I made Dio Brando. Well that only kind of works. While Aliens can learn Time Stop, they can't become immune to hunger. So basically if you want to get rid of hunger you gotta become immortal (i.e. vampirism).

I'll work my way through the races as I go, I've been looking for every potential exploit to try and figure out how they work to report them. One of the things I thought was a little broken about Aliens is that because this system doesn't restrict you to a certain path from choosing say a racial path (i.e. Time Stop) you could learn both Time Stop and Time Skip. Now you've got two time manipulation abilities that both work on any enemies in view. A little bit over the top. By the way Aliens have by far the most generous racial abilities menu, and I could see taking every racial ability making them fucking ridiculously OP. Especially if you choose to take 1 death regen and the rest into skill points to get as many skill points as possible.
