The actual game this concept art was for apparently never saw the light of day or got reworked into Evil Within. And EW doesn't really seem to follow this concept art's style, from what I've seen

Yeah, and it's a bit of a roguelike. It's not a rogue-lite, but the reason it's not a full roguelike is because it has one save point that I've found, along with some random ones that I don't want to spoil. The game has some crazy shit with status effects too. If you face off against one enemy without eye protection, he'll remove your eyes, which makes the entire game black from then on out. If you don't have the proper medicine for an infection, you'll die unless you cut the limb off, and depending on the limb, either you'll be crawling or you'll be unable to hold some weapons. And don't get me started on anal bleeding.

Keep in mind, the maps are randomized in some spots, but others are always the same. Items are like 90% randomized. There are lots of random things you can interact with that you can use, like mushrooms and herbs, along with barrels and crates. Also, a lot of interactions are done via coin flip. Not all of them, but stuff like success in dodging an attack or finding an item on a bookshelf. Some of them can be prepared for. Don't be afraid to start over. Don't start on hard mode, it's an entirely different beast.
