Any games similar to skyrim or gothic with pretty fantasy worlds that are actually pretty and i can explore around in?

contemplating kingdom come deliverance again but the constant talking and cutscenes is the one put off i have, takes away too much from just going in and getting lost in the woods looking at pretty textures instead of just going outside.

witcher 3 doesn't really interest me either.

niche as fuck games that are bad in all other departments except pretty scenery are also welcome suggestions

Morrowind or Daggerfall.

already tried them both. i liked morrowind but looking for something new

Breath of the Wild is basically Skyrim, so go for that

dragons dogma is a Japanese take on "fantasy medieval". Right down to the speech and titles the characters use. Might be similar to what you're looking for, but it is third person. It has some nice visuals, and some nice open world exploration stuff that changes randomly. The pc port is actually better than some of the console ports of the game available.

07dc08  No.16486466

>kingdom come deliverance

The open world itself isn't that interesting and the game runs like trash on literally everything

yeah I played that for a bit. it was really good. for some reason it made me feel super lonely, and not in the good 'lone wanderer' kinda way, even with pawns

Retard

CEMU is indeed superior in every way, but that specific example is horrible. Whoever made his version look this fugly on cemu is a retard

Its the contrasty GFX pack so yeah it will make your eyes bleed. Probably just demonstrating the extent of what you could do vs stock hardware

They had to make sacrifices due to the Switch being basically a fucking tablet. It still runs like ass in certain parts, like the deku forest. Where every blade of grass being rendered causes the Switch to shit itself and chug along.

08e914  No.16486489

>>16486479

as far as I know people have even managed to make mods for it. Model changes, textures, sounds, weapons, etc. The switch version is uber trash compared to cemu right now

The Switch version uses identical render distance to the WiiU IIRC but has worse performance in certain cases. CEMU however can run the game at a full 60 fps flawlessly if you configure it right. Also with CEMU you can remove the distance fog, which does not increase draw distance but makes the game not a fucking blurry hazy mess. Modders are getting closer to figuring out how to increase draw distance though, there's a GFX pack that lets you set the grass scale which increases grass draw distance but also size.

>>16486489

Just having the ability to unlock the framerate and resolution is enough to make it better

looks interesting with a quick search even though its promo image is just a big titty lady that doesn't tell me anything about the game. big titties surely can't dissappoint

i'll check it out, thanks

Divinity 2. It's essentially a less hardcore Risen 1.

Nehrim and Enderal if you haven't played them already.

The Risen series isn't bad either.

Be prepared for bad voice acting, though.

>pretty fantasy worlds that are actually pretty and i can explore around in?

Well, i hate to say this but some MMOs are good for this.

Do you prefer first person or not?

Do you prefer Medieval fantasy or not?

You might want WoW or ESO however I've played neither so I don't know how good/bad they are.

As far as single player goes:

Dishonored 1 and Prey both had environments I had fun exploring. Don't know if they count as "fantasy" though.

Hollow Knight had a pretty world to explore.

The Divinity OS games were also fun to explore.

Other than that all i can think of is Witcher 3 for HQ open world exploration.

dragon age origins was pretty good.

>The Risen series isn't bad either.

You mean Risen 1. The sequels were consolized to hell and back, and are completely different in tone and gameplay. Player freedom is massively reduced, and things like dungeon traps are reduced to QTEs.

Invidious embed. Click thumbnail to play.

Elex, Oblivion, The Witcher, Risen series, Bound by Flame, Divinity 2.

That's about it, there aren't many good third or first person fantasy ARPGs out there.

There's Greedfall coming out soon, same devs as Mars: War Logs, Bound by Flame and The Technomancer. The first and last are science fiction worlds, but I liked The Technomancer a fair bit myself. Only issue was backtracking, which was annoying.

BbF has a top tier OST, though.

>>16486386

>contemplating kingdom come deliverance

You get plenty of freedom soon after the first 2 hours.

>>16491219

Risen 2 is a hilarious game, the English translation (rewrite, rather) is, at least. It's shit in most regards, but it's legitimately one of the funniest RPGs ever and just charmed me so much.

Risen 3 has fewer merits but it isn't a flat out bad game. I liked it enough.

There's this game I've been playing called Outward that came out like 2 months ago. The world looks really nice.

083bce  No.16491319

Oh yeah, Bound by Flame also had Kazuhira Miller voice the male main character. I have no fucking idea how they managed to afford him on a low budget Euro RPG.

>all this turd person crap

How am I supposed to be immersed!?

8a93f0  No.16491481

>>16486482

It always renders every blade of grass, dumb dumb. The problem with Deku forest is that it consists of like 5 loading zones all on top of each other and the game constantly loads one zone in and the other one out, which results in extreme stuttering.

aa9936  No.16491608

>>16486407

There is nothing pretty about Morrowind.

080403  No.16491618

>>16486508

It's quite campy fantasy, be prepared to skip lots of dumb dialogue (or savor it, if you're into campy voice acting)

>kingdom come deliverance

It's a great idea for a game that has poor execution unfortunately. It's a bit too on-the-rails

080403  No.16491815

>>16491625

I am a fag for atmospheric nature environments and it delivers very well in that regard. I enjoyed hunting even if boars were pathetically slow. I also enjoyed the combat system. I do wish it was executed better in some regards though

5682f3  No.16494167

>>16491169

I've gotten curious about MMOs from time to time, but then I realize that they'll eventually be shut down and I'll never be able to play them again, and I'm very bad at dealing with loss of any kind. Plus I don't care to pay monthly subscription fees for a game.

>>16491219

You're not wrong. 2 and 3 are dumbed down. 2 pissed me off because it completely removed the option to be a mage, and both 2 and 3 also got rid of all weapon types except guns and one-handed swords. I'm glad I didn't pay much for them. I did have some fun with them, though, and they do have very pretty worlds, which is OP's main concern.

>>16491353

I actually prefer third-person for RPGs. I like to see my character in action, especially if the game has nice-looking outfits.

>>16491618

A lot of the voice acting makes me wonder if the person delivering it actually speaks English or if they're just reading the script phonetically.

>but then I realize that they'll eventually be shut down and I'll never be able to play them again

Private servers anon. Hell there's even a way to set up your own offline server for vanilla WoW.
