The world was mostly empty but you had some pretty cool car mechanics, it was meant for you to fuck around.
The dungeon were fun as fun as a mindless shooting game can be, the minion bots were cool, the weapons felt nice, you could actually be a fucking Rambo.
The entire genre Rage went for was shit but the game in itself (ending aside) was good.
Not great but it was good, it was enjoyable, it at the very least did not leave you with less fun than when you started.

In the moment the combat is alright because of some punchy sound design and nice effects, but the plot and script are completely rote when they're not egregiously annoying, The starting vehicles turn like pigs. You have to turn the difficulty up to Nightmare just so you can even notice enemies shooting at you and that's not some progamr MLG flex faggotry, its exactly that fucking easy.
Just replay Far Cry Blood Dragon again.

you can just unga bunga your way through because you're stacked with OP abilities which regenerate health and instantly kill enemies, enemies die so easily anyways that the shotgun will work for about everything
the saddest part is that you're not looking for things to explore, you're just looking for things to kill in order to distract you from all the fucking boring driving around and trying to find lootboxes in all the encampments
worse is that a lot of these points of interest are literally copypasted with the same structure and buildings, but with miniscule differences

Torrented it, played for 3h trying to skip all the lol-so-randumb cutscenes and all I got was a Far Cry game with worse driving, noise everywhere and a disgrace to Rage1.
Hell, even Far Cry 5 was wore appealing if only because the mini helicopters and the colour pallete not having these neon vomit contrasts. Also it's bugged to hell and all of the bugs are an eyesore, first being the turret tower thing dropping from the big ass drone thing and you can see it disappearing and spawning the game entity with a gap of half a second or so.
If anything Rage2 made me respect ubishit games for how competent their collectathon aspects are. Still a chore but the movement is not as shit.

Extremely boring world, driving feels awful, average combat and dogshit AI. I dropped after some enemies started getting stuck inside the objects around their base and I had to use the focus mode to find their outline and kill them with melee through the models.

The worst part about this game is the driving, believe it or not. The double jump is good, you can get quite a bit of height with it. This game would have benefitted greately from having a far smaller map, maybe give the player some vertical exploration as well. Less to explore per square meter, but an overall tighter experience. You don't need a big map, just a busy map. Also, curse whoever thought making racing a main-mission was a good idea. Man, pirating this was the most it ever deserved. It's a fucking collectaton as well, which is just plain bizarre. The Firestarter revolver is the weapon I found most fun to use

Most cars handle like shit. The dash is retarded. The guns are weird and the handling on the geometry is off. The constant spam of rocks and debris coming from under the tires is annoying. It is like the game just won't shut up.
Borderlands driving is barebones and floaty but at least that comes with the low gravity planet. I did not get anywhere as stuck or slowed down in there as with this piece of shit.
Rage 2 basically took a dump on everything Rage 1 did right or at least solid.
