Has this game been out long enough that we can talk about it with being called a shill?
WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
It looks like a single-player card game, plays more like a resource management game, until you realize how everything works and it becomes a giant complex puzzle.
In reality, it's not very complex, and quite easy, the enjoyment comes from exploring and figuring shit out, but even after that, it has it's moments.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN IT?
At first, you'll work a shit job, get fired, start painting, get depressed and killl yourself.
On your second run, you'll work a better job, read a couple books you shouldn't and you'll enter the Mansus (dreamworld). Shortly after, you'll go crazy and commited to an asylum.
In your third run, you'll finnaly figure out how to start a cult, and foolishly attempt to summon a creature from the Mansus. It will get free, kill someone and the corpse will lead the authorities to you.
You'll then attempt to kill the Hunter investigating you, fail miserably and either make a bigger mess that lands you in jail, or make a Rival out of him that will ruin your shit.
On your fourth run, you'll figure all of this out, be corrupted by power, drunk and inhebriated at how you can manipulate society around you and on your final steps of ascension make one really stupid mistake that ends your run because you didn't pay attention to a minor detail.
Your fifth run however will likely succeed. That's when you start burning the Moths for your Light, when the mortals surrender their skin to reveal their inner juicy minds, when Hunters are snacks for the Spider door and when the Mansus becomes your second home, before becoming your first home.
Any of you completed it? What about NG+?
Currently trying to finish Apostle Entheate, I think the NG+ could use a couple more hints, since nothing tells you that Rite Intercalate is not only needed to win, but to get all the other hints (the starting card hints 3 components, the ritual is the only thing hinting at the other 3). Had a funny moment when I panicked trying to gather Witnesses:
>follow the hint to create the Allure
>spent a fuckload of time farming and combining influences
>OH SHIT, it decays?
>all that effort and juggling influences with Painting/Sulochanna
>hint says it has to be given to a Maid-in-the-Mirror
>oh fuck, only have two Rites
>one requires sacrificing a follower
>another requires sacrificing lore
>need followers to fight that Long asshole
>notice a Winter follower got 2 Knock from a wound
>Rite: Follower + Winter Manacles + Edge Lore (2) = Maid in the Mirror
>spam the fuck out of of it, maids being produced in industrial scale
>Study verb overworked with splitting Edge Lore into (2) bits
>a procession of Maids being summoned, consuming people for witnesses
>generating a pile of Notoriety
>one of the Maids breaks free of my control, devours a follower a knock one, this royally fucked me later
>have to juggle the Allure and the Witnesses with Sulochana to recover
>Hunter (that I didn't notice arriving) picking up on all that Notoriety, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT
>another Maid gets free, eats the Hunter
>well…. that worked out. But cost me Lore and time, the Allure and the Witnesses are running out of time
>more juggling, more Edge division, more Maids being summoned
>finish when the Allure was at 0.7 seconds of disappearing
>now, I'm pretty sure I need to summon Theresa
>only way to do it is to sacrifice the other Knock 5 follower
>do it, instantly realize I fucked myself out of Knock followers because the other one was eaten
>Theresa allows me to continue, she's best summon after all, but not enough hints to go one after that
>google and discover that Rite of Intercalate is mandatory
>tons of grinding to get to Port Noon now
>realize I'll need to make another Allure
Can't fucking wait, I'm pumped.
