Interesting concept but combining standard modern FPS movement with portals and jetpacks is a terrible execution. A game like this should have fast movement and wallrunning and whatnot especially since it's got Portal's gimmick of retaining momentum.
Also that's a godawful trailer. Terrible music and FELLOW GAYMERS tier taglines.

Looks fun. I remenber seeing a few videos of their alpha with a somewhat different focus. It was more outdoors in ruins and the like, can't say I like the "arenas" they have going here, too much color and detail.
It's a bit of a shame that the character models are that drab and boring. I miss UT and the different psychopath-looking or murderous aliens you could play and see instead.
If it's F2P I guess I can try it for a bit since I'm one of the autists that always clamors for FPS games to try and do something different with movement to innovate and if they are trying to make "Portal with Guns" when that was a very popular idea (that barely got anyone trying it) when Portal was still alive, then hopefully this will turn out to be good.
Just hope there's no lootboxes or similar bullshit to prop the game up, I'd rather pay 20$ than have to deal with that shit.

Finnaly someone is using their fucking brain. I swear that if the Teleporter of UT worked the same way (F to shoot, V to teleport, for instance) it'd be the most natural thing ever to include in other modes. Same goes for Xonotic and how it's default pistol can be used for movement but you have to switch to it to use the damn thing.
It's such a simple change that makes using the gimmick more less cumbersome and frequent without interrupting your shooting.

So they are going heavy on Aerial Combat. I honestly don't see that as a good idea considering the many hitscan weapons. It's one of the things that Lawbreakers seriously screwed in their balance.

There's a Demo for the Beta available (dunno when it ends but maybe it's up till the release?).
You can check it yourself, but if you're not inclined to download 17gb, you can just wait and I'll tell you in a second once I've tried it myself.
From the trailer however, it seemed like explosions with (grenades? rockets?) were capable of giving you momentum.
Outside of that, it's essentially the Portal idea of jumping from high into an horizontal portal to exit a vertical one.

Well they say lootboxes "like overwatch" instead of saying "like counterstrike". Overwatch gives you more free lootboxes than you know what to do with, and with the exception of certain promotional items you can get everything from those. Counterstrike charges you to open any lootboxes, so if you want pretty much any cosmetics at all you have to gamble for it.

The beta was pretty fun. The art style is too busy and the game design requires an insanely high caliber of map designer in order to not turn into dogshit and I don't think the devs have what it takes. Gun design leans too hard on Halo. It'll probably be good for the first month or two.
