Haven and Hearth is always a fun survival game.

Far Cry Primal is pretty bad, but has a caveman immersion to it.
Flintstones had a lot of games for retro consoles if you're into cartoonish style.
I do remember some text adventure games from the 90s but couldn't remember the name. It was in ancient times, some Amazonian setting, if I'm not wrong.

I mean arguably in terms of their complexity/technology, sure (and even then they were stupid good at naval navigation, better then Bronze, maybe even Iron age and Classical civilizations at it), but the aeshetic is completely different

I'm playing far cry primal again, I bought it like a faggot years ago because I was thirsty for a caveman game but if you can manage to pirate it I can recommend it. It's a pretty decent experience on "survivor" mode since it locks you to three HP bars and locks out most of the skills in the game that would otherwise trivialize it. Not only that but it deletes most of the HUD and you can turn off aiming reticles; on top of that can put it on expert mode which I think makes you and enemies both do more damage, and THEN if you like you can turn on permadeath, which didn't exist when I started my playthrough so I couldn't turn it on. Not sure I would though, playing the way I do you get annihilated constantly by anything that isn't afraid of your animal buddy. That too- you can basically turn the game into a horror-lite experience by completely forgoing animals and trying to rely on torches to not get disembowled by wolves a la The Grey. Like I said, see if you can pirate it since it is definitely worth your time but don't repeat my mistake by giving them money.
Have some gameplay, at least. My club is max level so most humans get completely mulched if I hit them in the head, as it should be.
The south is almost 100% wooly rhinos which will rape you and your corpse, the rest if jaguars with the occasional badger so I'm sorry I couldn't show you much without getting my ass completely handed to me. Also you might notice that stamina in survivor mode doesn't just come back, only when you sleep, and a little bit when you eat. I can post more footage of something specific if someone wants since I have it.
