>This is not fraud—Roberts really is working on a game—but it is incompetence and mismanagement on a galactic scale.
>On a summer Saturday in 2007, a trespasser slipped by a security gate and entered Chris Roberts’ L.A. home. Inside, Madison Peterson, Roberts’ former common-law wife, was startled and feared her young daughter could be harmed or kidnapped. Peterson later identified the trespasser as Sandi Gardiner, who is now Roberts’ wife (for the second time) and a cofounder of Cloud Imperium. Roberts reported the incident to police, and a California judge issued a temporary restraining order that required Gardiner to stay 100 yards away from Peterson, who claimed in her temporary restraining order application that Gardiner had been stalking and threatening both her and her daughter for nearly three years.

He's legendary for blowing budgets and being an incompetent director, he became notorious for wasting millions and not being able to stick to any kind of deadline set by publishers to the point where everyone black listed him, he was forced to move to the movie industry because of this and only came back due to kickstarter thus no publisher to deal with.
The only reason any game he worked on in the past got released was due to others in higher positions keeping him in check and they struggled to do that, now he's the one in total control and to no ones fucking surprise he's wasted over $300 million with nothing to show for it.

They got 500 times the original budget they asked for, are more than 5 years behind the deadline and nowhere near finished, keep working on things that have nothing to do with the game they originally promised, don't even finish those feature creeps and refuse to give out refunds, all the while using their budget on ludicrous luxury expenses instead of the game.
Calling this anything but a fraud is simply delusional. By that standard Charles Ponzi was a legit business man and his postal coupon scheme just didn't quite work outinstead of being a deliberate scam

>The bourgeoisie are the MIDDLE CLASS
This isn't remotely true. Bourgeoisie hardly even exists anymore, as the entire meaning of the term stems from the time where society was divided between nobility, clergy and the third estate, and bourgeoisie was simply those of the third estate who were rich despite lacking privileges. They took control during the industrial revolution and thus became those who had everything.
Society has completely shifted out of the three estate model and thus bourgeoisie lost all relevant meaning, but if you were to compare it to any modern situation, it sure as fuck wouldn't be the middle class, since the definition of that is whoever gets by perfectly well without having a significant fortune.
The sheer amount of misinfo surrounding any economics that even remotely concern marxist shit is frankly astonishing. Almost as if (((someone))) wanted capitalism to lose any credibility.

He almost made Freelancer.
>In 1997, Chris Roberts began work on a vision he had since he first conceived Wing Commander. He wanted to realize a virtual galaxy, whose systems execute their own programs regardless of the players' presence; cities would be bustling with transports and each world's weather changes on its own time. Commodity prices in each star system would fluctuate, according to the activities of the computer controlled traders, who import and export goods. Roberts envisioned thousands of players simultaneously interacting with and influencing this world through a unique and intuitive user interface never seen before in other games. Each player could pursue a quest set up for their character, and join other players to attempt other missions together without needing to exit the game and start a new mode of play. Artificial intelligence would fly the players' spacecraft, letting them concentrate on combat or other tasks. Roberts intended the cutscenes and gameplay visuals to be of equal quality so players would be unable to distinguish between the two.[34][35]
>Two years later, the project was officially announced as Freelancer at GameStock, an annual showcase to the mass media of Microsoft's games.[36] The media covered the event, focusing on the features promised for this game. There were concerns about the state of the graphics and uncertainties over the promise of a dynamic economy, but gaming site GameSpot gave Roberts and his company, Digital Anvil, the benefit of their doubts.[37] Initially in 1999, Roberts announced the game would be available on the market by fall 2000.[34] However, the project suffered delays and by Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2000, Roberts said the earliest release for the game was at the end of 2001.[5]
>In June 2000, Microsoft started talks to buy Digital Anvil. Roberts admitted that his team required large sums of money, which only a huge company could provide, to continue developing Freelancer with its "wildly ambitious" features and unpredictable schedule; the project had overshot its original development projection of three years by 18 months. Roberts trusted that Microsoft would not compromise his vision for Freelancer, and was convinced the software giant would not attempt the takeover if it did not believe Freelancer could sell at least 500,000 copies when released.[38] Roberts left the company on completion of the deal, but assumed a creative consultant role on Freelancer until its release.[39] Microsoft instructed Digital Anvil to scale down the ambitions of the project and focus on finishing the game based on what was possible and the team's strengths.[13][19] Features such as the automated flight control, conversations that had different choices of responses, and sub-quests were abandoned.[12] Despite the reductions, several reviewers believed the resultant product was still true to Robert's vision.[5][13]

I know, that's what's creepy about the Rothschild guy, he used Musk's tweet to imply something else, to shape a new narrative. It's like that female journalist who shit talked to Musk, got owned and then asked on Twitter if there were female employees at Tesla who got sexually harassed before writing a hit piece about how she got harassed by his fans.

It's because Twitter is an intentionally cancerous form of media designed for marketing and nothing else. A key feature is not being able to see what a person is replying to. For example to reference the tweet Musk replied to in his "Who do you think owns the press?" tweet, I had to Google it and read an old article. When I went to Musk's original tweet (still up, by the way), it was impossible for me to read what he replied to. It told me WHO he was replying to, but not WHAT, and clicking their names just took me to their profile page. This allows anyone and everyone to reshape an entirely new narrative every time someone posts a tweet, as long as your followers like you enough or are lazy enough to not do any form of corroborating research. To virtually everyone in the world that knows about that tweet, Musk just looks like the archetypal "dog whistling bigot" that CNN keeps talking about, and the legions of astonished Jews replying to him just makes it seem that much more bigoted. To anyone that pays attention and has a functioning memory, it looks like a bunch of (((guilty people))) got overly nervous and started getting defensive very quickly.

I'd much rather ride a rail every day than drive myself or rely on someone else driving me, which is much more prone to human error. The major problem to solve at that point is inter-city transit, which (surprise surprise) can also be solved with trains, but we'd also have to continue to allow people to use cars and trucks for moving shit and people between cities and other places.
>inb4 "but i cant drive where i want in a city"

The other major problem overshadowing all of this is being able to actually construct and maintain these massive rail projects without annihilating our consumer economy via taxation and also without allowing it to go directly into the pockets of the always-corrupt city officials.

Yeah, but he didn't throw the baby out with the bathwater. The prequels are not good movies, but they at least have their own identity, had some good aspects (that were extensively capitalized on later) and you can feel the heart that went into the equation plus the EU content of that era went a long way towards towards keeping the fans happy with the franchise. Disney has none of that. They've churned out three shitty and incredibly bland movies and one mediocre one, a few shitty games, some shitty novels and comics and a mediocre cartoon - and all of that after unceremoniously axing everything that was in the works when they bought the rights, including three more seasons of TCW and a new Rogue Squadron game. A lot of the hate directed at the movies is contrarianism, anti-corporatism, Disney hate, etc. (they're just more boring than anything else, honestly; much like Marvel movies) but it's a lot easier to forgive Episode II when you're playing Battlefront II and KotOR II and re-reading Heir to the Empire than it is to forgive TLJ when you're buying lootboxes in EA™ presents Battlefield™: Star Wars™ and reading novels that would be entirely unnoticeable if they weren't literal fart fetish porn.

The "Chosen One" is indeed a tired trope, but Tolkien does a great job at representing the hardships that would befall a Hobbit and his fat friend with no adventuring or travel experience between them. Turns out that trope is still good because everyone can relate to circumstances beyond your control forcing you to do shit you don't want. There was also a guy whose entire personality and motivation was "I do what the woman tells me because she's smarter than me". It doesn't surprise me that a faggot like Wendig would like it.

It's a bizarre/unsatisfying series in terms of character development. The beta bitch beefcake you are referring to does a complete 180 and becomes a total "agent of chaos" memelord I wish I were joking. I primarily liked watching it for the way they actually get most of the little things about living and operating in space correctly that most IPs just handwave. The one character I really liked Miller they killed off, of course. As usual, I've heard the books are better.

Hence why the Prequels are the superior movies regardless of any other criteria. At least Lucas attempted new things, introduced new concepts (for good or ill) and tried to tell a more involved story than Empire vs Rebels which the EU authors then capitalized to muddy the waters, so the Separatists aren't actually evil and Palpatine was actually trying to save the galaxy.
Meanwhile with Disney you get nothing new (I struggle to think of anything actually novel the new movies introduce) and the story is even more cartoonish than anything Lucas could have come up with.

They're writing like a spastic because they see Doctor who as sci fi gold, especially the Tennant era. The reason he spoke like that is he is a scatter brain genius who can't explain properly to the humans around him. He was an adult talking to a bunch of children and bumbling like an old professor. So they write everything like that as if his way of speaking wasn't his character and not the actual plot.

Doing the rebels/empire thing is so fucking easy compared to how they fucked it up
>After the Death star 2 was destroyed the Empire fractured into multiple factions. With no giant empire to fight any more the Rebel ALLIANCE broke up as a single military force. While (((democracy))) reigns supreme in a quarter of the galaxy an empire faction starts to absorb and grow to become a real threat. With enough power they start building another Death star which no one believes except the plucky heroes from the first movie. Now Han solo becomes the mentor as his smuggling skills are vital in Empire controlled space. Han and Chewie now have a reason to exist. You have your new death star plus an arc to tell.
Movie 1 : Han and Rey blow up the new death star with help from a small faction of X wings.
>Movie 2 : The empire fractured reforms under Snoke and Kylo. The heroes have to escape hostile territory but now Hans dead so they're up shit creak without a paddle
>Movie 3 the rebel alliance reforms to take down the new empire. Maybe even redeem Kylo and make him the new head of the empire who changes their ways and it ends with Empire and Alliance ships working together to take down hold out factions.
It's a really easy story to tell and it's basically what the EU did. Empire didn't just reform, it held some areas and lost others.

It takes the same amount of time to refuel as a regular petrol or diesel car, unlike electric cars which take an entire day, or if you want to decrease the battery life of your car/ damage it which will cost a lot in replacement batteries, 40 minutes for a fast charge. On one full tank of a hydrogen fuel cell car it will do 350 miles unlike electric cars which will do about 75 miles. The only thing holding back the fuel cell cars is the infrastructure, only 4 in the UK at the moment because the activists are retarded and believe electric is the future therefore the government to shut up professional protestor types and for good pr points they spend tax money on what looks best and not what is best.

It's almost like space operas can't be entirely space fights because the budget can't stretch to that. If you knew anything about Lucas you know he did what he did to make better quality Flash Gordon episodes. He loved space ships and wanted to see them done better and cooler. The schedule was so tight on some of those ships they were made a over a weekend from scratch and then filmed the following week.
You have no idea how much work getting those visuals on screen was. By the time episode 3 came round CGI had caught up on what previously Lucas could only do with model kits with CGI imposed on top. That infamous "Jar jar is the key to all of this" line is because Jar Jar is the foundation for all the CGI lucas needs to make the aliens to inhabit his world.
Endless action with no plot is boring. That's just Fury road which has no stakes and no one gives a fuck about except DUDE IT WAS ALL REAL. Lucas knows you need the talkie bits to make the space battles make sense and to give them weight. If you break Star wars down to it's core story it's simple. Old good knight trains young orphan farm boy to become hero while fighting each space wizard and his dark knight apprentice. It's an ultra basic story and it's the practical effects which make it memorable.

Honestly I hate people who say, "This trope has been played out before. yada yada"
Because, there are two reasons why it is perfectly fine to use this kind of format.
1. This plot arc is much more engaging than what happens in most peoples lives.
2. The Hero's Journey is a very flexible formula that can be adapted in virtually infinite ways.
Like you said, it wasn't about the structure of Luke's Journey, but all the fanatical things along the way that Lucas created with special effects.
However If you take away that structure it becomes a hollow mess like the Disney Films.
If a story doesn't have an arc to it then it just becomes a pretentious mess. Like the Avengers Movies.
Iron Man movie 1: Tony has a full Arc with ups and downs and ends up a changed man.
Every other Marvel movie after that: Snarky dialogue -> Action scene -> Snarky dialogue -> et cetera.
I find it better if a creator just makes the story and has fun with it rather than try to be "Absolutely groundbreaking story telling/dialogue"
One of the most fun Single Player Campaigns I played last year was the Titanfall 2 Campaign.
It was about as trope-y as it gets. You are Jack Gary-Stu Cooper. Your mentor, Pilot Lastimosa, dies in a mission gone wrong.
Take control of his Titan, become a pilot, and chase after a doomsday weapon mcguffin.
The thing that makes this games story so memorable is not the plot. It's all the fun that the developers had with the game.
And they DID have fun making the game because the development cycle was them literally telling their guys to make a bunch of neat level concepts then fill in the rest.
Because of that, the journey you take in that game is more satisfying than anything Disney's "most clever" writers could come up with.
Though adding in the Giant Robots did help.

There are two ways to make a creative work that will be remembered. Either break new ground, or show complete mastery of what was there before. Mastery of something takes a lot of time, dedication and effort. While breaking new ground is relatively easy in the creative world if you are willing to not even work for it. When talking about story telling, it is especially bad, because there is a reason for a lot of things being the way they are in writing. Show don't tell, but don't go too into detail.

Hydrogen is not fuel. Hydrogen is not fuel. HYDROGEN. IS. NOT. FUEL. You fucking retarded faggots. Hydrogen is not a power source. It is an energy transport mechanism. Hydrogen shills say it's a "green" fuel, unlike "nasty" petroleum or gasoline. Burn gasoline and in addition to energy you also produce toxic air pollution. Burn hydrogen and the only additional product is natural ecologically pure water.
Here's the problem. Petroleum wells exist. Hydrogen wells don't. It's too reactive to just lie around somewhere, and it's light enough to escape Earth's gravity and be torn away by solar winds. Hydrogen has to be generated by another process. The generation process consumes energy (electrolysing water using electricity generated by a coal-fired power plant). Hydrogen is being used to transport the energy from the coal-fired power plant into the hydrogen burning automobile.

It's not about the pressure difference making your body explode, and it's not exactly air in your body escaping.
In ordinary conditions on Earth some of the liquid will evaporate and form a partial pressure with the atmosphere. It comes to a dynamic equilibrium where as much vapor is condensing as evaporating. In hard physics terms this is where the partial pressure of the vapor in the atmosphere is equal to that in the liquid. As you heat up the liquid, the gas pressure inside the liquid increases. If you increase it to the point of atmospheric pressure, it begins to form gas pockets inside the liquid that bubble up. We call this boiling.
In space the atmospheric pressure is practically zero, so liquids boil at very low temperatures. I assume that the animation is trying to show the sweat condensation around the armpits boiling away, but if they're going to do that they really should be showing his eyeballs and mouth boiling as well.

Fuel is by definition a mobile source of energy, you mongoloid. The only difference is that you extract energy from vaporized petroleum-oxygen combustion products as opposed to hydrogen-oxygen combustion (water) vapor, before that it was coal, refining hydrogen is a lot easier than refining hydrocarbons from crude. Hydrogen can be refined from a chemical that covers the earth and falls from the sky, and you only need a high voltage currant source to refine it.
the only problems is that pressurizing hydrogen to energy densities comparable to petroleum is difficult and costly. Gasoline was chosen because it was a byproduct of oil refinement, not because it was super good as an energy source.
