I agree XIII is actually a mediocre FPS only made interesting for the aesthetics, and the story which is not great but serviceable. I finished it twice on Xbox and PC. The first 2 or 3 levels are fun if only for the novelty of it, but after that the game sort of becomes a chore to play.

The stealth levels weren't that bad at all, the AI was bad enough for you to exploit them easily and see their patterns.

Seriously though, the original was fun when it actually let you play the fucking game. It had unskippable cutscenes, checkpoints right before those unskippable cutscenes, forced shitty stealth sections, "interactive" cutscenes (fuck you, Half Life 2) and gimmicky sections where if you did not do the gimmick that you never did before right you would get an instant Game Over. If the remaster did nothing but fix these I would be perfectly fine with it.
