No, it's just badly made. Marginally better than the other drakennier games, but at the expense of story. I wouldn't dare to spoil Drakengard 1 and Nier 1, but here, the big twist is that the machines have an unstoppable "nuh huh I win" virus that kills everyone in Yorha including 2B and fuck you. Yes, the pirated version is no more stable than the legitimate copy on steam. On many videocards you need to downgrade your driver to a specific version for it not to crash and in my case if I put the game in fullscreen it would limit my fps to 30 and internal rendering resolution to something really low. When I put it in windowed mode it looked a thousand times better. Never used that faggot kaldaien's FAR by the way.

i made it to the first actual free roam part and was exploring only to crash.
first part i spent like forever on max difficulty with mouse and keyboard for like 5 hours. swapped out to ps4 controller and lowered the difficulty one tier down and beat it like few hours after that and learning the fights and controls

Just played through the entire game on normal with kbm controls. Sometimes had to use the arrow keys to aim in the flying sections and the hacking game, which sometimes helped, sometimes was a pain. In general, on normal the game's not really that hard, after you get the proper upgrades you're practically unkillable as long as you're too retarded to learn how dodging attacks works.

I decided to go with keyboard and mouse because aiming was better with mouse for the first ending. Final boss took me something like 6h during one seating because I never learned to dodge as it was tied to tapping movement button twice and I hate such bullshit. It fucking had attack you needed to timed right and dodge or took damage no matter your position. Also I was hugely under leveled because I wanted to get the story instead of less interesting side quests.
One of my favorite memories from any game, especially with context and story of the game.
But for second playthrough I decided to try gamepad and you can spam dodge and be invincible. Either accept it being odd or switch to highest difficulty.

For me it was an AMD card I had to downgrade the driver for, to a specific version for it not to crash. And it would maybe work for like 10 mins before crashing so I replayed the unkippable into something like 5 times in total. Good thing I never spent money on it. Reading online it looks like it affects nvidia cards as well, though I haven't seen the "white screen freeze" they're referring to. Some cards just work with it while others don't. I'm sure there is a common trait between all the cards that have problems (eg some special feature or whatever that automata's rendering engine is using inappropriately) but I don't know what that is. Suffice to say Sony / Platinum are cheap fucks that would rather push out DLC and special editions rather than patching the fucking game.
