What have you been playing lately ? Are there any good free mmorpg out there ?

8ae8fd  No.16296496

lately? nothing. All modern mmos are chink/gook datamining GaaS piles of wow cookiecutter trash. There are many good free mmorpgs but they're all relics of a bygone age of less faggotry with a very niche playerbase.

Yes. SMT Imagine got a private server after Atlus murdered the official ones.

MMORPGs are inherently GaaS, although it's theoretically possible to make a P2P mmo using blockchain or something to prevent cheating.

it takes a special kind of autist to like a game as bad as imagine just because it has an SMT coat of paint.

if it wasn't SMT-themed and based on some other franchise (like, i dunno, monster rancher) you'd think its garbage too.

Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online are pretty comfy. Unfortunately they both suffer from the 'too many menu's' issues that decade old MMO's have. Rift is unique but it was supposed to be a WoW-killer and now the company downsized significantly. Other than that, WarFrame could be considered an MMO by some definitions.

>What have you been playing lately?

Black Desert Online. I only fish in the game though and it's the only reason why I play the game. But I'm still there, fishing away every day and strangely loving it.

Elderscrolls Online. It doesn't have very good graphics but the lore, dialogue choices, and fully voice acted quests is what I love most about the game.

Final Fantasy XIV. I'm only playing it for the art style and depth to the mechanics in the game. It's the only mmorpg that allows you to swap between a healer and tank class on a single character without paying for it, after all.

>Are there any good free mmorpg out there?

Free? I'm honestly not sure. Most good free games out there are pretty old by today's standards. I mean you can always go back and play Everquest 1? But then you can go out and try a few bad ones like Neverwinter too. Either way i don't know.

I enjoy the game for its depth. It focuses heavily on training demons. Imagine doesn't make demons obsolete after several levels, unlike most SMT titles. The human character roleplay is far better as well. When was the last time a console SMT title let you be a dedicated smith? And the game's combat, while neither the best-paced nor the most visually appealling, has a lot more depth as well.

Of course the game has its flaws, but in certain areas it has made some significant improvements over Atlus' titles and it would do them well to take some notes. Conversely, Imagine could have had better dungeons and fewer tedious fetch quests.

>everyone using the same builds with the same alignments

>"Dedicated smith" more like "you cant use this character for anything else so make an alt"

>1 hour walk to get anywhere

its a mechanically shitty game with terrible netcode. frankly, i dont care how much better it is in one or two aspects than mainline SMTs, its an absolute trashy generic MMO as a whole. there's a reason the game is officially dead. even hardcore SMT fans saw through the bullshit because it was so thick and in your face about it.

i like SMT but not enough to put up with this garbage game to get my fix.

Like I said, I like a game that lets me make my demons as badass as possible, so I'm willing to tolerate the flaws. If you don't like Imagine, that's OK. As for the game's lifespan, the Japanese official servers lasted 9 years, while the English ones had a much shorter life because they were frankly far inferior. Fortunately, the private server is based on the superior Japanese version.

The alignments certainly weren't balanced well, that's true. Neutral gets the best benefits, while Law and Chaos get left in the dust.

The character walking speed is sluggish for sure, although there are various speed boost options and teleport points. There was still room for improvement, but then again, longer trips make the moon cycle more meaningful.

thats cool that you like it and all and you can play it all you want, but the gameplay is trash. takes a specific kind of autism to put up with it and "like" it.

*This may or may not have been fixed with Digitalize System. I never reached a high Digitalize level, so I wouldn't know.

Whatever you say, anon. Any game can be said to require autism. You can like whatever you like as well.

I've been playing ESO for the last month or so, and it is okay for what it is (single player questing mostly), but it doesn't scratch that MMO itch at all. I hope at least one of those upcoming kikestarter MMOs turns out good. Pantheon, Camelot Unchained, and to a lesser extent Ashes of Creation might have some chance of success (who am I kidding, dead genre forever).

525b93  No.16304523

I've been playing some PSO2 solo, seeing there was some campaign event to level up fast for the upcoming episode 6, I thought I'd take advantage of it. It's alright for gameplay but it's godawful that you need to rely on events to get a chance at getting the good weapons.
