You never needed anything like that to know that.
Having any sort of encrypted functions in your game code will add some CPU time to running that function it's inevitable even the most barebones of encryption / obfuscation will do that.
And with how extensive Denuvo is it's obvious that it would have a noticeable impact when you hit a function that has a DRM check in it especially if the dev is a dumbshit and doesn't limit said checks to non-performance critical parts.
>>16291842
Pretty sure DMCV and F1 2018 were leaked DRM free .exe from the QA testing branch on steam so they would match the latest version at the time.

The most autistic and pointless form of software security. I had to work with a database which had all its procedures encrypted once. You know what it did? Made it impossible for me to tell what code was deployed. That's it.

What? Are you talking about people who've been copying unknown .exe files from "crack" folders since the turn of millenium or people who's friend's cousin downloaded mp3.exe once in general? Because I'm sure as hell the former would never buy a game with Denuvo.

At the begging probably due to there only being weird workarounds but "cracked" denuvo games are easy to download and install now.

the funniest part is when parallel 'storefronts' were set up offering to (temporarily) "activate" a denuvo game on your computer for $5. that's even worse than actual piracy.
a718a4 No.16292622
The thing is, who is this actually trying to convince?
>forever escalating DRM
>ever more obfuscation
>ever more complexity
>ever more intertwined with the game
>ever more intrusive to the computer
>ever more connected/profiling
<no performance impact though LOL
Anyone with a sliver of common sense already understood the problems of DRM and anyone who didnt understand, isnt worth convincing IMO.

I think it's case of blind loyalty to a game/company to the point where they believe the piracy lies. Until this point they've blindly defended the evidence videos pointing out that denuvo impacts performance with shit like "No noticeable difference". They're going to have a hard time defending this, but then again they're cum guzzling shills so I won't be surprised if they just ignore it.

Until you can convince a board of directors that not putting in DRM will mean the video games they are bankrolling make more money than what you'd save from those who would buy if they couldn't pirate, it will continue.

Any sort of DRM beyond basic shit like Steamworks is pointless. Downloading cracked .dlls is enough of a deterrent to stop people from just sharing the game amongst themselves on a USB stick and people who want to play online with their friends, want to support the developer or adhere to some moral code will just buy the game anyway, and people who just want to pirate it will pirate it once it's cracked anyway. No amount of news about russian hackers will stop me, have fun snooping through my VM.

when hard evidence is presented they will start to say
>we already knew that, no news, nothing new, stop talking about it
the real reason why this video exist is not to show YOU why it is bad
It was made to trigger the next stage for the blinded fanboy, projecting.
f097be No.16292824
also, if this projecting gets strong enough in the mindset of normal fags it will draw a bad light on the games using it, which will force denoshit to do something.

Steam is so big because it's deliberately so easy to crack the DRM on it, and beyond that, there's the neigh constant sales and shit like a built in chat client, forums, and other services.
Nobody downloads steam because of some bullshit You don't own nothing Goyim Forgery laws are out of control and we can declare something we sold you still belongs to us :^) clause in the EULA.
