There hasn't been a good mech game released at all since the last armored core that wasn't an HD re-release of something, and there's nothing currently in the works either. The only decent mech game upcoming is a re-release of a game from 2004.

ZoE2 HD has a VR cockpit, but that's an eastern super robot thing, so that's probably not what you're looking for. It's still good, though I've never bothered with the VR mode.
