Wild Arms 2, like Paper Mario: TTYD, is a good example of how to do a "power of friendship" sort of finale the right way, namely that the fight (or in WA2's case, the first of it's two final bosses; the latter basically just being to wrap up a loose thread) is actually a threat that takes a good while to even get to that point, and the outside aid works thematically well with the rest of the game. Fuck, the final boss music is a nice arrangement of the game's opening, "You'll Never Be Alone", as well, as if to further the weight.

In Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth hard mode is actually the easiest difficulty and easy mode is actually the hardest difficulty because in easy mode you get worse dungeons, worse characters, and worse loot causing you to be pretty fucking kneecapped and struggle along as the game ramps up (plus you can only get the worst ending) while in hard mode you get everything.
