I played Odallus, but not Oniken. I'll try it out.

Odallus was really nice, especially the armor sprite and even that silly alien easter egg.

Supposedly they are helping to fix it up, but they weren't the main developers. The main developer is some unknown Jap mobile developer that has produced only dog shit and doesn't even actually make the shit itself, because they outsources to Vietnam.

Even if Way Forward is polishing their turd, it's still gonna be a turd. Look at their track record. Remember, it's the team that makes the game. Not the big name business man whose just a face to scam people for money.

Circle of the Moon is a lot of fun so far. It kind of feels like if SOTN was built with Richter mode in mind rather than the other way around. My only real problem so far is how difficult it is to keep track of bosses' positions thanks to the GBA's screen resolution.

Check out the Ghouls n Ghosts series, it's like Castlevania with good bosses.

I never minded the constricted movement. The game was never made to play like Ninja Gaiden or anything, and with something like Ultimate mode where you get all of these movement abilities for katanaman fuck I can't remember his name. Zandatsu? the game is an utter joke.

That's what I mean, one thing iis having freedom of movement and options, like Rondo, and other is saturating the game eithwith them to the point everything have a practical and easy solution regardless of if you go upgraded Zangetsu or full power of friendship.

Regardless, I praise the game to actually try and give the player a lot of options, problem mostly being enemy position and variety not justifying all these options, to just limiting all your movement and calling it a day. In fact, I usually put Castlevania 3 above Castlevania 1 merely because Trevor's movement is far smoother than Simon's, let alone the other characters like Grant.

Only bad thing about the game so far is 2.5D. The same you can say about games praised by normalfags like, like Megaman 11. But to be fair, SOTN walkwalking animation was pretty light nonetheless.

Thanks for reminding me OP, I meant to attempt a romhack randomizer of cotm. I have the knowledge to do so now, but not the time or motivation.

Honestly I still hold Richter to be the gold standard of Classicvania movement. He moves incredibly smoothly, while still maintaining the restricted movement that makes Classicvania so fun to play in the first place, while adding a few neat movement skills like the backflip for the occasional style and fluidity in dodging. I really like the backflip.
