With the remake of Battletoads, there could be an opportunity to different kinda of games to get a cartoon type remake, more specifically to some 80s, 90s cartoon licensed games.

Pic related comes to mine, is a good game, but a cartoon directed remake could really add a lot to it.

It's a disappointment that a lot of indie games focuses just on pixel art. Is the any indie that focuses on animation? and is there any old cartoon licensed game that would work better with animation?

Garfield: Caught in the Act on Sega Genesis has maybe the most impressive animation I've seen on a 16-bit system. Better than a most later 2D games, even. The Game Gear version is pretty good, too, for Game Gear.

Rugrats: The Search for Reptar does a really good job at feeling very much like the show. Of course it's 3D, so it doesn't look exactly like the show, but you get to explore a lot of locations from the show, laid out in very logical fashions. From the main house, to a bunch of locations only seen in single episodes.

have ninja turtles been in anything good since turtles in time?

Beavis & Butthead on Genesis was pretty good if limited in scope.

Counter-question: is there a Ren & Stimpy game, other than Stimpy's Invention, that isn't a pile of garbage?

I recall there being a PS2 brawler that was half decent.

No, they're all shit.

Aladdin on Genesis uses digitized art from Yidsney animators as sprites.

Even better than The Mask on Super Nintendo?

Does it count if the cartoon came after the game? I'm still waiting for the 4th installment.

Unfortunately, spending money on a license usually meant less money to spend on capable developers. Not that this was unintentional. Hire people straight out of high school or community college to program a game which will sell decently on the license alone, and keep the guaranteed profits after paying so much for the license.

Beyond a few of the bigger developers in the NES era, I can't think of too many licensed games in the eighties and nineties that were legitimately good. Somewhat recently, licensed games have been alright, but Mad Max and Fist of the North Star lend themselves far too easily to sandbox punchemup action.

are you implying there was an Earthworm Jim game to come out after 2?

Didn't Xenon (Fuck/Friend Society, 4channer, made TF2 maps Harbl Hotel - Mario Kart - Vikings) go to work at Shiny? The kid always was a hipster, and looked like RL shadman. No idea what he did at Shiny, just remember a mutual friend of ours telling me he started some job there years and years back.

Can we bother him to ask about Earthworm Jim?

I actually like Earth Worm Jim 3D, but I have to admit i'v never beaten it since it got to a point where the game became real goddamn hard in a cheap way rather then a fan challenging way, it's very much a rough transition into 3D, but I still want to beat it one of these days.

you are? look around you nigger and tell me with a straight face how a new anything game won't bring a gangrape of dissapointment

that, and doug tennapel is working on what's basically earthworm jim but not him. Bigfoot bill backers will be getting the game but no one else apparently? i don't understand how that works and if he really expects his backers to not just post the game everywhere after release but he's old so i can excuse his decisions.

The Genesis Pirates of Darkwater game actually has an ending, unlike the original series.
