What's the best current homebrew means of copying a game from disc and installing to a PS2 drive through the system itself, and does it require a specific format of drive beyond something like >>16254597 to utilize that install method, or would it need to be formatted differently? Asking since for whatever reason the computer I've been using as a terminal to install ISOs through is getting bitchy again, with WinHIIP saying there's no boot record for the drive and thus refusing to work with it (despite the fact the drive has been working within the PS2 just fine), and a few games I've been wanting to install recently a friend has actual copies of, thus an alternative could be helpful in me not hogging his discs for weeks on end.

I meant digging in the HDD as far as locating loaders, since older installed files sink within the browser (which makes for waiting for each row of ISOs and such to register before you can drop to the next one); hotbarring applications themselves such as loaders saves a lot of time. If you mean the FMcB installer though, speaking from my own personal set up, there was one included in the starter modpack I used to set the drive up first, but of which I'd heard elsewhere was a broken app of it. So I just used the uLE that was also in the installed modpack to load a properly working installer from a USB instead.

I want to say I've heard yes, but at the same time I'd have to question what sets the refresh rate: the game itself, or the system? Just makes me think it's probably easier to have a system be able to run something below the maximum it can do (IE: NTSC loading PAL) than try to do the inverse, but as a burger it's not like I've had to try it myself. OPL also has a number of settings you can tweak on an individual basis for a given game if needed, so if something's not working, you might look online and see if anyone had to adjust those first. But at its roots, loader applications avoid region lock discs themselves would have (and of which would require hard mods or swap magic in the past. Just make sure you've got up to date loaders for better compatibility in general than prior versions might have.
