I played on both US and EU servers. The US ones are f2p and fucked if you don't like p2w, because NCSoft. Of course since it's f2p I'm pretty sure most people box to level. (And I hate boxing with the wrath of a thousand suns, if you play a MMO, play with other people, you moron.)
The EU one is p2p with a 7 days trial but it felt like a ghost town at low level because the server is years old.
Now I don't know if I should retry Classic Club. It's f2p since it's a private server, but it seems you need to pay for a premium account if you want to launch more than 2 clients on the same PC, so there's that. Last I heard the population was also more healthy than Classic EU.
If there are any other classic servers more alive than those 3, I'm all ears anons.

Okay, review. After leveling very quickly to 18, I can say the following: It's good and it's bad.
The good: As mentioned, no buffer NPC's, Multiboxing is banned if there's no premium accounts. Those reduce teleport prices, give a special title and allow you to multibox once. There are no A-grade weapons in the auction yet, which means that there's no real meaning in dropping tons of money on B-grade weaponry.
The bad: You get fucking dailies which translate into coins. Those can translate into mats that you need to craft weapons and many higher-grade weapons and armor are only made by Artisans which require all of those to make good stuff. Those can also be spent on permits to set offline shops, healing potions - the instant one can't be used in combat, PK count reduction and the fucking recipe gacha. This server is a fucking meme.
Now then, because there's probably no other server that fucks multiboxing as hard as this one, I'll still say that we should play here.

Some fags near me complained about being run out of a leveling spot. Was funny as fuck because the PKer murdering em left me alone since I gave him free buffs and healed him when convenient before hand. Good to see he remembered me. It's interesting how merely being friendly gets you pretty far. Modern MMOs with matchmaking or safe zones don't have this kind of interaction and thus no socialization (the purpose of playing an MMO).
I play casually on the US Classic servers that came out last year. A bit busy to play MMOs at the moment though so not much progress.

Oh boy, are you in for a ride. The game never tells you anything and the classes do a bunch of very different things. If you want to be good at the game, go to https://lineage.pmfun.com/list/skill and ignore all Kamaels as they aren't in the game, then pick a class based on what you want. Right now we only have an Overlord/Bladedancer and for a clan to be better, we need both of the jewsDwarves and probably some magic nukers. If you just want to have fun though, start out as anything you want, but please remember that some classes are blatantly low-tier (like most of the tanks), so you might end up in an underdog situation if you don't look things up beforehand.
There's also an issue of class transfer quests. Those are mandatory to get better skills for your character and the game never really tells you this. On levels 20 and 40 you'll have to look up your profession's Job Change quest and do it. It's not hard, mostly tedious.

NCSoft turned the game from Pay2Win to pay a lot to win a lot. This game's enchantment system is fucked up in that it can either reset the enchantment count or scrap the weapon in question altogether, so the more weapons and/or enchant scrolls you have, the better the chance of improving the weapon is, the more weapons you get, the more weapons you sell for increasingly retarded amounts of adena. Now imagine if a game's userbase just accepted this and let it run it's course, with developers rubbing their hands all the while.
Now, this game has some "donation services", but so far they're just limited to certain buffs, potions and having an ability to let other players have more accounts. It could get worse, to play the doubles advocate, but it is still better than anything that NCSoft could come up with right now.

There is a certain amount of ridiculous quest chains to access end-game bosses, but aside from that, you're not required to do any quests to get more EXP than you can get by just killing shit. It sometimes helps, but there is no large disparity between just farming mobs and doing quests.

In Classic, there's just NG, D, C, B and A-grade gear. In Interlude, the last patch in which the game was fun to play, it went up to S-grade. In current version, I think it went up to S-80 and there was one tier higher than that. Granted, getting A-grade is a pain in the

without crafter AND spoiler classes (for mats and ability to craft high level gear), as it involves BUYING it with retarded amounts of money instead of crafting it, which is why we want those classes to get there. However, their combat performance is pretty shit compared to combat-specialized classes, so it's another dilemma of "help the clan more or pick the fun thing that you want".

I'm not an expert on animal therapy specialists, but since endgame is pretty much gonna be just PvP and Raid Bosses for better gear (just one death at higher levels eats a ridiculous amount of EXP) it's probably going to be hard when you get there. However, leveling with pets should be easy, even if it's sometimes slower.

It's for the EU server, but it should be more or less the same as Classic Club. I'd say if you still want to play a tank class, you can't go wrong with either the human Dark Avenger or the Dark Elf Shillien Knight, as both have very useful debuffs.

I'm not completely sure where the servers are based on - couldn't find anything related to this on their website. In the game, you have several proxy servers to choose from which will should lessen the delay that you'll be getting. Ping matters a lot in PvP - on death, you always lose 4% of your current level's EXP and in hunting zones, anyone can try to kill anyone else at any given time. There are heavy restrictions on PK though, so most people don't try to kill anyone who is unflagged.

The server has updates up to C1 with a little bit of C2 right now - meaning no manor, no catacombs, no Goddard, no Rune and no Schuttgart. There is Alligator Island along with sieges. For skill balance, I have no fucking clue - didn't lurk the forums and experimentation would simply be too hard and grindy. However, people say that debuffs like Fear, Stun, Hold etc have a lot more chance to land now and while dueling with some fags while waiting on RB, it was not uncommon to stunlock people using Scavenger's Shock Attack.

Played long time ago, but as far as I remember, DoT kinda sucked. Many classes had some kind of poison, but they were more like nuisance rather than main source of damage. Probably orc shaman had strongest type of poison. I think he has decent debuffs too, but they are most valued for their mass party/clan buffs.

I forgot to mention - I was wrong over >>16270963 here in the fact that this server DOES have CP potions - 50 CP for 10k and 200 CP ones for 50k per. It's not to the point where having a gigantic CP pot stack to spam is completely required to live, but this does make prolonged high level PvP consume millions of gold in value. This, unfortunately, makes Clan Jew Arts a necessity rather than a great addition when approaching high-end hunting zones.
Translation: it is somewhat Pay2Win in that enemy can just buy currency with RMT, but not to the point where it's full-on talisman of unmanageable doom like in the core game right now. If enemy can regenerate 200 CP per second - that's a time it takes to use a CP pot mid-combat - then it should be possible to burst him down so that doesn't matter or even better, proc a stun on him to make him unable to use potions at all. I'm also leveling an Overlord as a main character for juicy CP mid-battle heals, so.this will likely save us a ton of money, but we need damage dealers to blow shit up faster than it can regen.

DoTs are a mixed bag. >>16283460 is right in that Orc Shamans have the best gear for DoT's, but things get awkward after the second class transfer.
Warcryer has THE strongest buff list in the game for physical attack characters by FAR, he gets the strongest DoT effect in the game, he gets a magical nuke that leeches back 80% of dealt damage to him as HP, a LOT of CC (melee stun, fear, sleep, confusion (attack random targets)), a static heal-over-time effect and a mana-draining toggle that increases his physical damage. He is also the only class whose buffs target all nearby party members at once, so to buff a 9-man party, you only need to cast your list once instead of 9 times in a row. His problem is that his everything has very many drawbacks. His DoT doesn't scale with any of his stats, meaning that as gear treadmill goes higher, it starts to deal less and less damage overall. His magical nuke costs an extremely high amount of MP, to the point where you'll probably less than 1/3 MP ten or twelve seconds after you start spamming it in combat if you've started PvPing right after reapplying buffs. His CC effects only work in PvP during Sieges, Clan Wars or Olympiad for some reason with the sole exception of stun - even if you try to use the skill by force, it won't let you use it in the field. His stun skill requires him to be right next to the enemy and approaching someone up close with robes instead of heavy armor - this is what you want for killing people with your magical nuke - is NOT a great idea because you will just get melee'd to death if that's a physical class. Last, but not least, his toggle increases his melee damage on a class that wears robes and wants MATK instead. The class is a buffbot that can sometimes do damage.
Overlord, on the other hand, is a prime example of how a class like Warcryer can get even worse. Compared to WC, he gets the same magical nuke, the same CC that WC gets, the same HoT effect and the same +damage toggle. Instead of great party buffs centered around increasing physical damage, he augments magical damage instead, but his buffs are exclusive to clan members now. Instead of a godly DoT effect, he gets a LOT of debuff effects. The catch, however, is that they only affect the area around him and similarly, don't work in open-world PvP. What's more, majority of them are really terrible compared to what you should be doing instead - CP heals. Overlord gets an ability that allows him to restore CP to somebody and another ability that allows him to restore CP to ALL nearby clan members. It's an absolutely glorious way to save money on aforementioned CP pots. What's more, two of his debuff effects are really useful - one increases his enemies's skill cooldowns and another applies a silence effect, which means that target character can't cast spells at all. Really fucks up mages.
However, everything above goes out the fucking window if you don't have a clan as his very useful buffs are now suddenly worthless because no one can receive them. No AoE CP heals either. Any robe-wearing scrub of an overlord is dead meat in melee because of generally poor defense and the fact that you HAVE to be close to the enemy to put debuffs on does not help. Most of your CC is shit and the part of it that isn't shit probably won't help you in PvE. And of your nuke, while it does decent damage, it's nothing special because it's main purpose is to keep your HP bar high and not actually kill the enemy. This class is a gigantic jack-of-all-trades, but it's a PvP healbot that is worthless without a clan instead.

Forgot to add - Overlord gets a +PDef toggle and a +Block rate buff. It caps at about +50%, which, coupled with a basic 20% shield chance to a grand total of 70% is pretty significant. However, because he still has to cast spells, this is still generally worthless in party play because in PvP you need those big, juicy heals and in PvE your party members can and should be able to pull aggro away from (You).

It seems it's possible to make some pocket change by fishing. I just bought a 1 day rod, some bait and fishing shot and went afk. I didn't make much but a few hours of ask fishing should buy you enough for teleporting around and cover the price of soulshots for a grinding session. It gives you some exp as well for some fucking reason.
There's also some (((dwarves))) selling hundreds of stews and 6 million fishes, dunno how they got them.
