While I do agree that the complete lack of any innovation is bad, it's at least better than Destiny 1 to 2 "progression" where Bungie fucked over skills by making them into fixed trees instead choosing separates skills from list, weapon upgrades being non-existent (and all weapons having fixed rolls) etc.

I would like that to but most developers want DRM in their games because they trick themselves into thinking that'll give them more sales. Also, GOG has odd decision making because they recently stopped a game from releasing on it because it was "too niche".

I seldom believed the crash memes when people started vocalizing them 5 years ago. But the last two months alone have shown a harsh downturn for the industry is imminent. MMOs like WoW are dying, Blizzard in general is dying, EA is only resting on sports since BFV and now Anthem have tanked, Sony's move to California is poisoning Japanese games, etc.

This shit is pie in the sky until EA loses the sports game pillars the company stands firmly on. I understand the loot box scheme is under attack and the brand is toxic, but they have a relatively stable mass of nogs & whales who are guaranteed to buy madden/fifa/nba/mlb/nhl/ect every year and they serve that shit up at minimal expense.

Everything else is an expansion of revenue stream and an attempt to fight over marketshare. The stocks will rise and fall, but they aren't going anywhere until the sports brand roster updates fatigue.

Its just like the first game, but with more then four players for co-op, different "special" class weapons/gadgets and no snow. Div 2 is a $60 standalone expansion that will sell for not being Anthem.

At least, Far Cry New dawn was $40 since it was a stand alone expansion.

Ubisoft is not doing well, though.

been playing division 1 and the game is really boring when you go the route that most people are playing which is pump everything into firearms to melt down the enemy. which is the fastest way to deal with enemies and pvp. but i decided to fuck around with different mechanics of the game such as status effects and mix and match other skills. right now i have the shield modified with the assault mod that gives buffs me in different ways while using the raffica pistol which has a chance to blind enemies when headshots land as well as cooldown skill reduction for every headshot. i also have the predator mark gear piece which lets me inflict bleed on enemies. and i also use the turret with shock bullets to shock enemies on the spot. with the right talents you can spread the bleed and shock status to multiple enemies and i can tank a lot of damage. i do like that they added enemies that can fuck you up like the hunters which make fights way more interesting but those are far in between which is such a shame because their design is pretty good adn im surprised to the attention to detail they have such as having all those watches as trophies. i think thats where this game starts shining but barely.

the problem with the division is its take on realism while trying to be an rpg. it tries to be both but ends up failing. i like the setting but they need to just ditch the whole muh realistic aspects and focus on the rpg aspect more in order to get crazy with the gear which they kind of did with the gear sets but they can still do so much more. thats the problem anthem has but anthem has no excuse to be so shit being a scifi setting.
