It's a rather clever scheme, as stash space is basically required if you want to play alot, and it gets you committed and thus more likely to drop money on it. But can't say I mind that much, got alot of time-drain on this game.

Way to shill a shit game. Having played PoE, I must admit I lost interest some time ago. The gameplay sucks ass and it's nothing but an autismo grind simulator. Roguelikes are fun, but only if you actually the game challenges the player to devise solutions to the enemy scenarios at hand. Here it's just an endless clearspeed fest for loot. Create godskill, grind like an idiot, huzzah. Most boring fucking gameplay loop ever.

The concept drift is pretty fucking sad (and pozzed) too. I liked PoE better when everyone getting exiled was some shade of crazy/criminal just looking to survive and get ahead than the new "A Hero Is You" bullshit where you wage war against evul oppreshun like dominus and the beast and Oriath and the gods. Path of Exile no longer knows what the fuck it's on about and it wrecks a bunch of shit just to be more PC. Somehow Kaom got downgraded from a badass (but still fucking savage) and solid barbarian lord to some idiot who fucked over his own people and needed to be saved by Hyrri then fucked his people the rest of the way. Marauder went from a deadly fucking raider to an oppressed former slave. Witch went from child-killer to spooky magic girl. So much fucking lame shit. Where's the PoE that had those Diablo 1 vibes? It's all fucking gone.

The writing just got fucking worse and the gameplay loop never improves. They just keep changing the window dressing. Yeah, they're finally doing a major skill rebalance, but it won't solve the game's core issues. From the get-go it wasn't designed to properly handle varied challenges in anything other than the steamroll methodology.

You can trade so much shit tbh. There was a time when I traded for transmutation/wisdom and then started ID'ing fucking everything blue that dropped as I leveled up to turn into alts (and 8 alt orbs are worth 1 alch) in currency. It wasn't too hard to accumulate like 8 chaos' worth of currency doing this shit, which can get you started on certain build-specific uniques. At lategame though you can just grind up a storm with the right builds. The only reason people don't seriously build magicfind anymore is because limited portals turn it into a clearspeed fest when you can only carry so much shit. Between getting 100% increased item quantity (which is fucking hard to stack and will see you dropping shit on the floor) and getting 2x the clearspeed, the latter will make you rich much faster, go figure.

Get ready to repetitively grind like an autist, son. The only interesting thing left in PoE is custom character builds, and those are only fun to devise, not to play. The game itself is boring shit with dodging boss attack patterns being the fanciest crap you'll do.
