Far Cry Primal has been pissing me off lately (no autosave) and it runs basically like nigger shit.

I seem to remember a really old 3d game about controlling unga bunga men trying to make a stone henge. It was sort of like a strategy game in that you gave out orders rather than controlled a character directly but it was closer to Lemmings than Warcraft/C&C/whatever.

Green hell is an early access survival crafting game. You have to bash rocks together to make sharper rocks then tie them to a stick with vines to make a spear. It might be close to what you are looking for.

Not a game, but check out Grashros. Manga about stone-age humans at the end of the ice age.

Seconded on Unreal World, hunting in that game is fantastic and immensely rewarding. Or you can just make pitfall traps and get free reindeer that inevitably walk over them in a few weeks time

While it's technically not prehistoric it's more likely to scratch your itch than any early access trash will.

Bumping the thread because I am also interested in prehistoric games.

One that I can provide, although it is not "historically accurate", is Jurassic War. The game is really fun and I love the fact that you can level up individual units. Unfortunately, the AI is completely braindead.

Tail of the Sun was a prehistoric game, as was Chuck Rock. There's Primal Rage, if you want a fighting game where you can play as a giant, farting gorilla.
