The difference is that Jap Idolshit at least tries to put on the illusion of purity, and often has a clean but fun tune like 50's pop idols. Well, pop idols in general up until Madonna. After Madonna, the whore idol became popular and now it's all about sluts singing about being gold-digging whores cunts.

It doesn't matter if Jap Idols are actual Yakuza whores, it's the performance and the magic of production to sell you an image of what you'd like to believe. Modern western pop idols just put it all out there. Literally.

I'd argue that it's more along the lines of gtasa had all good stations, but was more diverse in their selections, which made it appeal to less people. Vice City had an amazing selection of music, but they were all the hits of the 80s. You turn on an 80s classic rock station you can hear music from every station in vice City, where as GTA SA was the beginning of "reggae station, rap station, metal station, techno station etc"

Look at it like this, GTA 3 had the same format as GTA SA, yet GTA 3 is only known for having forgettable radio as opposed to bad radio

Saints Row 2 and the Tony Hawk series. Holy shit did the rest of Saints Row blow it. 3 and 4 blew the music budget on three songs that appeared during certain events. As a result the rest of the music was shit.

Guitar Hero 2 had a good track list
