Is there such a thing as co-op RTT?

Company of Heroes was great. Blitzkrieg mod was the shit, I fucking loved spamming "Ritterkreuzträger", which is just a cucked way to say SS. Also, playing tommies and just leveling the entire fucking map with heavy art was fucking great.

I'm not sure why there wouldn't be. RTS is a genre that has co-op, there's absolutely no reason you can't have co-op in an RTT.
That being said, I can't actually name one because I don't know what we're using to differentiate between an RTS and an RTT.

A lot of so-called RTS, like StarCraft, are really just RTT as well since they focus too heavily on tactics/micro rather than on high-level strategy like in, say, Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance.

Starcraft is only heavily "focused" on tactics and micro because you can't select more than 12 units at once. If it weren't for that, it'd be exactly the same shit as all other games.

No, it has a tiny unit count and small maps and a very rudimentary and crude economy. It's a tactics game first and foremost.
41eac3 No.16013048
>>16011625
Yes. Autists like >>16011784 will tell you it's got anything to do with actual terms of tactics and strategy, but in truth the distinction is that RTS concern themselves with both fighting and logistics of fighting (like strategy does) and RTT are just about fighting (and tactics is too small scale for logistics to be important). So, base building vs no base building.

Good taste, Commandos used to be my favorite game when it came out. How's Shadow Tactics?
92592f No.16013370
>>16013362
Shadow Tactics requires a beefy rig or more like you're forced to install on an SSD, when compared to older stealth RTTs it has a lot of quality of life or casul stuff like the game slowing down when you're seen, being able to move when selecting and aiming your abilities, a lot of sound indications as well with your firearms and movement, the actual stealth is good requiring some of your characters to be set up and kill all the targets in quick succession.
The same devs are making Desperados 3, although after playing earlier Desperados games, I'm worried Desperados 3 is just going to be Shadow Tactics but in the west than an actual sequel to Desperados.

Commandos 2 was awesome, Its a shame pyro studio hasnt made a commandos game as good at it since, commandos 3 was a disapointment to me, less missions and they fucked up by adding time constraints and obvious one way only to do the missions.
Pyro studios still exist so maybe we'll see commandos 4 one day, you might cross your fingers but if you do it too long youll be probably get carpal tunnel

Because sometimes they forget it's a stealth game and also forget it's an RTT game, usually one character is so overloaded you can wipe the game with only that one character. Also the fact that it's a hybrid genre, most stealth games are usually one cool character that's an assassin, war hero or government agent, most rtt games are stripped down rts games that put more emphasis on tactics than base building, resource gathering. RTT games have a tried and true games, Stealth games have tried and true games, Stealth RTT does have a tried and true game but they aren't common.

Nice way to put it. I think games like Commandos are puzzle games built around stealth and tactics but not really a part of those genres. You need that playful kind of thinking that comes from a puzzle background to come up with a design that can draw from different genres and end up balanced.

There was a game I got secondhand when I was very young which I think may have been RTT. All I remember is there was infantry and military vehicles, the graphics were dark as shit, I think there was this really close and oppressive fog of war and it was at least somewhat unintuitive since young me never learned how the fuck to play it despite figuring out old RTS and isometric RPG systems just fine.

No, micro is the most important skills to have in age of empires. Most of the brainlets that play this game don't understand this, they just make units and mindlessly throw them at the enemy and then blame their unit choice for losing.
