Serious Sam fits the description, but I know that's not what you're looking for.
Shadow Warrior games by Flying Wild Hog is closer to the real deal, but they suffer from the FWH syndrome: floaty movement, unoptimized engine and way too many explosions for their own good. OG Shadow Warrior can be similarly applicable and according to some people on the internet melee is viable on harder ie. proper difficulties.
Painkiller is eeeeeeeeeh almost there, but you're not that squishy. Admittedly, I've not played on higher than Normal.
Max Payne was a big influence on Madness Combat series as a whole, especially on 5.
I've played a bit of DEADBOLT (from our friends at HoPoo games), I've not gotten the hold of its meta yet, but it can resemble MC, especially with this new episode out.
People shit on BUTCHER for being a stereotypical ´´oooh look at me pixels the size of cats so retro´´ and I'll admit it goes a bit overboard with it's resolution, but it's pretty much a cross between MC and Abuse.
Broforce is a bit of it's own beast, but it really is fun to play either way. Just take an antacid when you see a tumblr nose, you'll have the mildest stomach this side of Mississippi. Real shame, the original artist kicked ass.

Its connected but the first time we ever see the lightning is when it revives hand and its only revealed that they are connected in MC10.
My guess is that the Auditor created all the improbability drives for some reason and employed Jebus and Tricky to defeat Hank but over time Tricky went more and more bonkers and just started a personal quest to fuck with Hank that turned into a grudge(he still tried to fuck with Sanford though). Jebus got pissed off because he got killed once and then he returns on a quest to kill the Auditor. My guess is when the world started falling apart God told Jebus to eliminate the Auditor and my guess for the reason for the sky to be cracking is because God is trying to just finish off the world. Still doesnt explain why God helped Hank in the first place though.

And how did he become a shadow god thing? Also, where exactly were they at the end of 11? In the real world, or still in some kind of purgatory? If it is the former, then it's possible that Deimos is not beyond saving and can somehow escape, since the Clown clearly did.

I feel like I'm in my early teens again, theorizing bullshit internet flash animation lore.
Here's how I saw it all:
1) This was not all written from the beginning, it started as just "stickmen" killing each other
-in 1 it's just good ol' madness, Hank likes to be the star of the show and Jebus can ressurect people in form of zombies
-in 2 Redeemer, we learn that Jebus works as a guardian angel for Sheriff, whom Hank wants to kill for some reason ("There was a man who sought the sheriff")
-in 3 Redeemer Hank comes back from a headshot and we are introduced to the improbability drive used by Sheriff. Looking at it now, it's effects look a bit like "hell", but it could just be Krinkles' image of "fucked up place beyond logic and reason". Only THEN are we introduced to Clown, so it's possible he's a product of the improbability drive. We see whales fall from the sky because Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Hank kills the sun. Now we can only assume that after being killed the Clown is resurrected by Jebus since him and Sheriff were monitoring Hank, but there were no cameras outside the Bakery (fanfiction zone). Jebus jumps in right after zombified Clown is downed. Jebus is shot in the fucking face with a shotgun, Sheriff is stabbed and shot in the face as well, while hank supposedly dies from sword poisoning.
-in 4 Apotheosis Clown is shown to have acquired grey hands again. Why? No reason. What does it mean? No clue. Maybe he has some special privileges, maybe it just means he's out of Jebus' control, I don't fucking know. Whatever, it was made during the time when lolsorandumb was still hip. We are introduced to an Agent of the 1337 crew, we later learn they are just slightly more aggressive/assertive mooks equipped with cool Matrix shades because Matrix was the absolute shit at the time and are equipped with desert eagles. Clown is shot in the face, but since he's a zombie he's fine. He is however shitting his pants when Hank gets close to him with a sword and an MP5K with a ludicrously large magazine (along with the MEGA firing mode on an AK and Hank lifting a vending machine with one hand these I think are reminders that improbability drive is still active). Jebus makes Hank do a New Game+ run of the dance floor only to be wounded by a really well resurrected agent (first time we see a zombie use a weapon after Clown), quadruple tapped by Jebus and see Hank blow himself to smithereens, taking Jebus down with him

INTERMISSION: I'm drunk and it's 3 in the morning, but god damnit I am going to go full autism on a flash series I've been watching for what feels like decades now
-In 5 Depredetation second best episode we again see Agents directly resurrected by Jebus to be products of good training/programming, following orders, wielding guns and showing restraint when told to (so it's almost redundant for them to be zombies at this point, they're just regular agents, zombie state be damned). This was around the time Matrix 3 came out, I think, so all the mooks are replaced with Agents. And Clown's hand are green again, so whatever, I guess it was the power of good techno that unzombified his hands. Here we are introduced to the red haze on top of a canyon or red orb or red sun or blood sun I still have no idea what it's supposed to be, but it seems either mesmerizing or important to Hank. Which is weird that he saw it in the first place, considering he's wearing red shades. At the bottom of it Clown shows up only to be shot in the face, but comes right back out when Jebus enters the fray in a surreal transition with the words REALITY COMPROMISED and CLOWN HAS BEEN ENGAGED, easily beating the shit out of both Jebus and Hank. Enter Sanford & Deimos giving Hank a helping hand sword and getting crushed by a rave party. This could mean one of two or both things: another organization or faction friendly towards Hank in this scenario is monitoring the events and has disposable manpower; the other theory is that they are just a product of Improbability Drive along with the rave party that had just landed on their heads. Jebus gets his head cut in half and manages to walk away without it in the next episode, Hank tries his best, but can't beat the Clown because he's a cheating fuck. Also Jebus is referred to as Player Two. Of course this was just a reference to video games, communicating that " shit just hit the fan", but it can also mean that both Jebus and Hank were on the same team at the very beginning. Hank seems to be more resilient to cuts and stab wounds which would have otherwise killed him in previous episodes, but unfortunately you do not kill clown, clown kills you. Fuck did those last 10 seconds freak me out when I first saw it.
I'm done for now, I'll sober up tomorrow, this is incredibly stupid, Krinkles was obviously making it up as he went, there's no method to his madness hue hue

-Jebus' halo is very much sought after, but it doesn't make sense since Auditor employed him and could have just stabbed him in the back, grabbed the halo and be done with it.
-Episode 6 is the best episode. Fact.
-Tricky can control the Improbability drive.
-Agents can be upgraded at least twice remotely, increasing their stats slightly and making them more efficient combatants. Hank, Sanford and Deimos attack these Armacham type facilities where agents are upgraded to AAHW (Agents against Hank Wimbelton) promising a fight to restore Normality.
-ATP (Accelerated Training Program) exists
-Posters blame Hank for distorting Normality, despite never possessing an ID unlike Sheriff, Tricky and Auditor, and Auditor seems to be trying to restore or at least control it.
-Jebus can heal and/or revive himself with the halo.
-Keystone fragment is mentioned a few times, it seems to be key to reality transformation.
-in 11 Expurgation it is said that "The thorn lodged in reality is infected", this is after Auditor steals a broken halo from Jebus' body in ep8 and Hank touches it in ep10.
-in X,5 episodes S&D are clearly following orders, Hank is part of their organization
-Jebus is done being out of his job, puts his halo back on and sets off to restore Normality himself, understanding that this event would cause "Armageddon" of this world.
-Auditor can infect people using shell.
-Agent magnification is a thing, but it makes an agent stupid.
-Destruction of one improbability control restores Normality all over the place in violent bursts, so despite there being 2 other functioning drives, the restoration process is irreversible.
-The first soul we see in Hell is puking, the only other character to have ever puked was Jebus. This soul seems to at least somewhat understand what the fuck is going on and how to control it.
-This Hell is the same dimension as the one Deimos is trapped in and where all the Auditor-absorbed corpses ended up in. It is explored by an unknown party from the "real" world.
-Auditor cannot contain Tricky, wants him out, bargains with Sanford
-Tricky is pretty much Agent Smith at this point, almost entirely in control of this dimension, able to copy himself, but there's only one halo.
-Auditor still has some semblance of control and gives Hank whatever admin privileges he has left to give
-When halo touches the outside rim or portal, that's when the clown dies and that entire dimension probably collapses on itself, pushing the "corpses" of every major character out.
-Auditor is pleased that everyone is dead and the broken halo is in his possession.

I just noticed that in the light area(the edge or whatever) there are 2 holes prior to the the soul that we are assuming is Jebus busts through. At the end the 2 red souls that start grabbing Tricky but none of them actually used the lightning power. So the 2 souls that tackled arent the one that busted through at the start. Because all that shit will fuck up your movement because of the size of the mags, it'll weigh more than standard mags, you virtually can't use your weapon from a prone position or rest it on any object for steady shooting, and you'll have to reload each mag later, which takes a lot of fucking time and effort because those mags usually have stronger springs to push all the rounds into the chamber until they're all spent without any feeding failures.
