>or do all of them suffer from chink quality?
I haven't had any issues with mine, and I'm about two years in. Sony doesn't make high-quality controllers, but they're not bad durability wise from my experience. By this time in my 360's life (about two and a half years), I had already gone through two of their controllers and was getting a third due to unmanageable stick drift. The rubber had completely worn off the bottom of the sticks on both - and while my Xbox One controller is still new, out of the box from the factory I already don't like how button presses don't fully register unless you make a very deliberate and concerted pressing motion all the way down. Especially on the guide button, but occasionally with the face buttons too. There is far too much distance to press to get it to register for my taste, and it makes them garbage for rapid-fire inputs IMO. In contrast, the DS4 buttons are very responsive and have about half the distance to press.
And that's not even close to what I consider chink quality, like Mad Catz or PDP Afterglow. Even the Xbox One Elite (from what little I tried of one) feels solid and quality, even if that's just an illusion because the damned thing falls apart literally on it's own. you get what you pay for, amirite?
Also, just for the record - both my old dualshock and dualshock 2 controllers work great despite signs of heavy wear (big gouges in the stick where they rub against the top of the framing). My Dreamcast, Duke, and NGC controllers also all have perfectly functional and responsive sticks. The only really bad think I've got to say about the DS4 gen 1 engineering wise is that the battery has a comparable charge to a fucking Sega Nomad. But that's more on Sony's retarded decision to make it light up like a gay rave toy to make it compatible with their VR unit. They cheaped out and designed shit camera-based motion tracking just so they could get rid of the leftover PS3 move controllers that never sold
Really the only official controllers I would say are chink tier are the 360 and N64 because their analog sticks are so shit and easy to break. Maybe DS3 too, but I can't say since I've never used one - just heard bad things.
