It comes off as an imitation. Sort of like how Duke 3D's movie theater first level is an imitation but has all these little elements that may get reused later but plenty that are unique for it, such as the large movie screen, darkening theater, the projector, the snack bar, bathroom, it all has a nice feel that harkens to elements that evoke the feeling of being in a theater while not being designed like one.
