Xbox 2 codenames rumoured to be Anaconda and Lockhart
The rumoured Xbox 2 consoles reportedly have new codenames.

According to Windows Central, these new names are all lumped under the previously reported "Scarlett" codename, which is still reportedly meant to refer to the family of Xbox devices rather than specific consoles. That hasn't been confirmed at this time, but the report mentions that the relationship between these two consoles may be similar to the relationship between the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X.
>As for Anaconda, that would be the Xbox One X of the relationship. However, even that comparison doesn't quite convey what you should probably expect from these upcoming consoles. Windows Central reports that the Lockhart model will probably still be even more powerful than the Xbox One X. That means that the Anaconda model will theoretically be significantly more powerful than the most powerful current console. It's not clear at this time how Microsoft will achieve that goal, but it's believed that the Anaconda Xbox will feature a much better SSD along with better processing technology.

Senua's is a good movie. A decent choice to play if you have someone over who doesn't like video games to impress them with the "story" and cinematography. Enslaved, I've only played the demo of. I have the game around here somewhere but have never actually had the motivation to play it over something else. I remember being impressed by the facial animations even back on the 360 version, which is why I got a copy for $5. So take that as it is.
The only Ninja Theory game I REALLY want to play is Heavenly Sword, and not even necessarily because it looks that good on it's own. I just remember that, at the time, it looked like it could be fun - but I wasn't willing to shell out $600 for a Sony Shitstain 3 to play. And then it never got ported to a better platform and Sony dropped Backwards compatibility so now I'm just kind of stuck until I find a source to pirate it and hope RPCSX3 is compatible.
And honestly, now that I really think about it - I think the only reason why I was even interested in Heavenly Sword to begin with was because the way her hair physics were implimented reminded me of Shinobi's scarf for the PS2, and that just kind of triggered a positive association that just hasn't been displaced yet.

Oddly enough, I uploaded a bunch of lewd Peach Beach Splash and modded Skyrim/FalloutNV clips and this one Fate VR experience with this slut bouncing on a ball and pole dancing - using fucking tags for Ori and the Blindforest and Forza Horizon - and they all went through moderation. That was part of their strategy for xbone: to be able to play xbone games on PC as well but it backfired because why would you play the xbone version when there is a PC version of it released at the same time? It hasn't backfired, it's just half-implimented. From what I hear - the ultimate plan is to make Windows 10 machines into just another Xbox, but with added functionality of also being a PC. They've been working on developing these sand-box tools like UWP to essentially allow "one click" porting between different hardware profiles. If they can get that commercially functional in the next gen - then they can bring over pretty much every single Xbox One/360/Original and next-gen game to the PC and sell them all with crossplay/crossbuy/gamepass functionality through the Windows 10 integrated marketplace.
The biggest hurdle to any major hardware manufacturer - is to get the hardware into people's houses. Because that is a pre-requisite to getting them into your digital stores, which currently have a $300 (or so) cover charge. Microsoft wants to erase that by giving PC users the option to basically get a free Xbox built into their PCs. On the other hand, mobile has been eating into the PC market as the dedicated generalized computing platform of choice for the general population. If they can "rebrand" a Windows 10 PC into being an Xbox platform with expanded functionality of also being a PC - they can use that as a wedge to get into people's livingrooms and keep people buying their OS.

Extenuating circumstances. First was a fuck-up partnering with nVidia in a rush to get their game console to market. Second was massive hardware failures due to bad engineering as a result of a rush to get their console out on the market first and distance themselves from nVidia. The third was their first real legitimate and unambiguous failure that they couldn't blame on other factors.
Microsoft and a lot of their investors have been wanting to spin off the Xbox brand into it's own independent division for a long time - and after the 360 fuckup, they were given one last chance to turn things around with the full support of Microsoft Corporate, but with the caveat that the Xbox brand would return to Bill Gates original vision of a fully integrated Windows 10 living-room centered entertainment center. That's why the reveal was so heavily focused on TV and Sports rather than games. They were trying to turn it into a multimedia box and integrate the Windows 10 store for apps to try to bolster their cross-platform UWP ecosystem with PC and Mobile. That backfired on them… but the landscape has changed too much for them to back out now. They need the Xbox brand to help prop up the dwindling PC market as more and more people adopt mobile. So they shitcanned Mattrick and promoted Phil Spencer while fully giving the Xbox it's own division within Microsoft rather than just being a sub-division. The entire endeavor is changed to focus more on games and use that as a wedge with the normal fags who aren't going to give up their mobile phones at this point.
Funny how the whole story of Xbox basically started as a tax dodge by Sony that scared Bill Gates and lit a fire under his ass to give the DirectX guys the funding and permission to make their own competing multimedia box - to which the mad lads just took the cash and fucked off to build a video game console behind Bill's back.

If you just want a 360, then a 360 is worth the price I think - but it's a ticking time-bomb. Especially if you get a refurbished model. Xbox One backwards compatibility is nice, but it's incomplete. They keep adding to it, but only a few titles a month - and they probably won't make a whole lot of headway into Xbox Original BC because even MS doesn't want to write an emulator for it. Licenses are such an expensive pain in the ass to navigate on games that old, and the way MS does BC is completely ass-backwards. Instead of having you download the emulator wrapper and just ripping the ISO from the disk - you download the ISO and Emulator and all once you insert the disk - so that counts as a new distribution and prohibits them from making games like Guitar Hero or Scott Pilgrim or Outrun 2 Coast to Coast BC.
And the rumor I've been hearing is that Microsoft ultimately plans to just merge the Xbox and PC platforms going into next-gen - so they'll be bringing Xbox BC to PC via their Universal Windows Platform sandbox bullshit. You might be better off just waiting a bit and getting a potato laptop to install Spyware 10 on instead of an Xbone. But, that's just a rumor. Phil has said that's something they're "looking into" - but that was a few years ago and they've been radio silent since.
Best bet for now would be to just get a 360 Elite and mod it so you can pirate.

I think it's a lesser evil paying for DRM boxes than spyware boxes, especially when I wait until jailbreaking becomes possible, I paid like $30 for my Wii. It's even cheaper than upgrading a PC for emulators, and some systems don't have useful emulators yet like any of Microsoft's consoles.
Also why the fuck would I want to emulate a portable system like the 3DS or Vita when they're both extremely flexible systems to jailbreak and portable, and don't have any emulation bugs? Vita doesn't even have an emulator yet unless you want to play Quake.

They could just call it the 2080 and hope people are retarded enough to think it's got an RTX 2080 in it. They could probably get AMD to come up with some baked-in pseudo/not-really ray tracing like technology and then claim it's Ray Tracing like the 2080 even though nVidia is lying about it too and play it like Sony has played 4k this gen. The technology itself doesn't really matter. They just have to get it looking "good enough™" for the casuals who don't know their shaders from their assholes and be just "well technically" enough for wiggle room with reviewers to give it a thumbs up as soon as the check clears.

Maybe if they gave you a model number to go along with it, but in any given year there so much variance between high and low end that the year it was produced becomes virtually meaningless beyond the broadest of strokes - especially in desktops where components can be upgraded with much newer components, or be hobbled together with components much older.

Not if you want to give them any actually useful information, especially on what programs (especially hardware intensive programs like games) it can and cannot run. If you have to look up the specs to go with the hardware model, then the information they're giving you is useless when they could just give you the rough specs to begin with.

I actually told you enough because there's very few systems you can disable Intel ME entirely and they're all done by Coreboot or Libreboot, and they're all old too. With Libreboot you can't even boot Windows so on top of their old specs they aren't useful for gaming. But that's the point. I put a lot more scrutiny in what I use for shit that matters, and let other systems be used for untrustworthy stuff on top of breaking them to remove limitations.
Yes Libreboot was run by a fucking idiot tranny and killed because of that, it's still a useful project.

Compatibility with older games and Kinect support? It's clear that these features cost money to make, it's clear not everybody cares about these features for the additional costs, and it's easy to communicate what these features are about. I think having better graphical capabilities would be a crappy distinction, with even brand exclusive titles being not really optimized for either hardware variant, and a lot of casuals being unable to instantly notice the performance difference.
