if you're having trouble or you need more motivation I'd recommend getting into a martial art or something
I was in the same boat as you guys three years ago, BMI was about 38
picked up Krav Maga and then Karate
Karate in particular makes for fantastic motivation
Krav provides more exercise and definitely helped me build more muscle (plus it's probably much more useful in a real fight), but the reason I really like Karate is because if you really get into it you find yourself doing everything you can to make your kata just that much better, down to things like training specific muscles in your legs to improve your stance
not only is it a form of exercise, it's also something you can be passionate about
plus once you get it down your punches are fucking demonically powerful, I remember the first time I really coordinated everything properly I sent my sensei stumbling back halfway across the dojo
anyways, 3 years of that and my BMI is down to 26, and most of my weight comes from muscle

I was and still am in the exact same shoes as you are in right now. 25 next year. Just keep searching. Required a lot of introspection for me instead of literally searching for jobs, interests and whatnot. I initially wanted to do either Muay Thai or Jiu Jitsu, but I found a Krav Maga dojo less than a five minute drive from my house so I settled for that
