I have a "gaming" laptop as well, dell build, geforce gtx 950m, intel i5, and I still get terrible fps in games with high demand for graphics its fucking stupid. This is the only time i decided not to upgrade my current pc and go with a laptop and I've been regerting it ever since. I'm going to save up for better parts for my desktop tbh, laptops always crash and burn and break.

I have never played a game where v-sync has ever been useful at all and did anything other than slow the game up to a stupid amount and make it awfully clunky to play. So I leave it off.
