A thread for posting games you played a long-ass time ago and want to look at again, but can't remember what it's called.
Back around 2010, I dabbled in a free to play MMO that I'm pretty sure was Asian in origin. I seem to recall a really rough translation and Asian runes everywhere. The starting area was some kind of town or camp that consisted of wooden platforms connected by wooden suspension bridges over a body of shallow swamp-like water. Mages would mount some kind of talismans to their hands for their equipment instead of using wands or staves or anything. I distinctly recall an ice area that had really pretty but haunting female (non-lyrical) vocals. I think there were some freemium things that I was really annoyed with at the time, but I'm not sure.
Anyone have any idea what game this was?

Oh shit, I found it. It was called CABAL Online. I remembered mostly correctly, but most of my memory of the song is incorrect; I only really remember the faint background female vocals in the bridge, and thought the rest of the song was more empty and barren-feeling, like a Metroid Prime ambient track. Instead, it's sort of a slow groove with a wailing electric guitar.

This is a game for the PS2. It's an action game set in ancient Japan where a guy sold a lot of his limbs off to demons and got them replaced with prosthetics. But then he goes on a quest to get his limbs back.

This will be tough. About 12-13 years ago we didn't have internet access yet so I asked my mother to bring me a some game to play. And she got one of the guy from her job to do that. It was an "RPG" with a view similar to early Pokemon games. Think the name started with "K". Might have been in Japanese because I remember not knowing where to go a lot. I don't really remember much though - even if the game had fighting - well it probably did, I just don't remember it. Guess it was walking around towns mostly.
If you can't guess this, I will settle for a suggestion of a similar game. 2D RPG, Pokemon-type view, you know the drill…But not in Japanese. Story heavy (if it is interesting) with puzzles and hidden stuff is welcome. If I can play it on a PSP or DS that's even better. Thanks.

Man, I don't really remember shit. I'm not even sure if the information I gave out is correct. Graphics were low-res. Don't remember battles at all, it might have been mostly walking around towns. The game I need help remembering is a Windows 95 childrens educational game. The object of it was to find these talking kangaroo characters who were playing hide and seek, when you found one of them it would result in the game playing an educational video about a certain topic, I remember one specifically being about grain farming. There was a game for classic Xbox where you played as a mage named Aaryn. It was presented as an over-the-shoulder action-adventure game, but the camera angle was so high it might as well have been top-down. There were a bunch of different spells, but there are only four elements that oppose each other: light and dark for sure, and I think fire and ice. In order to level all the spells up, you had to find them in the world, but you could miss things if you didn't explore enough, including the OP as fuck runes that gave you health regeneration and shit.
It was a rental, so I didn't make it very far, but I remember that in order to beat the third or fourth level, you had to lead two gorgons to each other in order to make them turn each other to stone.

Racing game with a boost meter i can only think of kinetica and burnout, specifically the dominator and revenge games since the races in those games revolve around boosting all the way to the finish line.
Anyway, i'm looking for two PS2 games.
First one is about tanks, i played this one in 2003 with a friend on his modchipped PS2, there was an old man near his house that sold bootleg games (GC, XBOX, PS2, PS1) and foreign candy, so we basically went there every friday and stocked up on all sorts of candy and games to spend the entire weekend playing them, they were insanely cheap, $50 bought us a shit ton of his merchandise this one time we picked a PS2 game that had a cool tank on the cover with a generic title ("TANK BATTLE"), but when we popped it in the console it was almost entirely in japanese, it had a story mode but we couldn't make sense of anything, so we played a few matches against each other before we got tired of it and played need for speed hot pursuit 2 instead, all i remember about the game is that it played a lot like twisted metal, as in you couldn't rotate the cannon to aim, you always shot forward unless you had a homing weapon, no idea if you could unlock a gun with manual aim since we only played against each other and one of the few tanks available had a homing rocket launcher.
Second game is about a pilotable mecha that could transform into a jet, one of the few missions i remember is a very annoying escorting one where you had to carry a girl from one building to another while protecting the entire city from robots, another mission has you going to space to defend a spaceship that looks like an actual ship, again this game had a generic cover art and title and i don't remember anything else about it.

Might be you just have to dig through There was some zombie Win 95 game nobody could get but found it myself. Entirely forgot it again. already because it was mediocre. mobygames. I wish their search engine was more robust, since they have a great catalog of box art. Can't really get to a thing unless you wade through. Like a library with no code system. Have to take it upon yourself to start weeding through. I found some weird Win3.1 bootleg of a bootleg called Tobor that was based on some bootlet Dr. Who game where you try to run robots against eachother, and found out it's about fuck old as some Fairchild game.

seconding that answer; one mission had you carry Minmei in your VF's hand and the series it's based on did have top-tier alien military spaceships

I have one I only have flashbacks of left.
It was a RTT game of sorts where you controlled a squad of soldiers, set where alien parasites had invaded the world, and repurposed/infested human corpses into walking cyborg corpses (aking to that shit movie virus in the 90's)
Think "Codename: Outbreak", but with an isometric setting.
last mission was set in a heavily infested LA or SF or equally urbanized setting, trying to set of a nuke to wipe em out.
And I remember the game cover art was one o those alien/corpse with a gun

I really do love the game but it suffers from a clunk that makes playing it an absolute chore. Which is a damn shame because the overall plot is pretty metal, and the characters are 'fun'.
There's a sense of mystique about the game, and environments are well designed for a PS2 title but fuck me if you can be assed to suffer through it long enough and still appreciate it
Not worth the time, honestly, but the main character is voiced by Quinton Flynn (Raiden) and that's pretty cool.
