The big thing I want to see from eReader hacking in the future is custom card data. That way you could theoretically print it out and use it on a retail cart. Not to mention it would probably allow for some pretty easy Mario hacks with SMA4. I guess you could do some stuff with the Pokemon games too, but berries and battles aren't as interesting as an entirely new level in a Mario game.

I think part of the reason why uDraw on the Wii did well wasn't just the casual audience, but it was probably cheaper to design and make since all buttons/tilt and wireless were already provided by the Wii Remote while the PS3/360 needed more work to design and build a brand new peripheral from scratch that was compatible with those consoles.

Not even defending it, but the ipod video wasn't even out yet when those things first released. Most people cell phones couldn't even play video yet. And if they could it probably wasn't much better quality wise. For the time they were released they were perfectly adequate. But, they were very very quickly surpassed and obsoleted.

E-reader was never about "storing more data". it was gacha DLC before its time. I doubt any of the Animal Crossing cards stored more than a kilobyte of data, and from what I know those contained the biggest amount of actual data for things like patterns. In some of the GBA games, like, for example, Megaman games, they just activated flags for something that was otherwise fully implemented in the game itself, but was not accessible without an overpriced accessory and a piece of cardboard.

I think there must've been commercials for the gameboy video carts but I can't really remember what they were like. I guess I might have to try and find some, since I do remember wanting some EE&E videos to play on my SP as a kid.
