I managed to get my hands on a switch the day after Black Friday and I'm looking for good games to get. So far I have:

I'm mostly interested in fighting games and action platformers. Would prefer games that aren't out on Steam because I'd rather get the Steam version in that case.

Super Mario Odyssey if you like bing bang wahoo. It's legitimately a lot of fun, but most of the post-game content is just hunting for moons for dozens of hours, so it's not as full as it looks unless you're a collection addict.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild is alright if you like a game that is mostly just wandering around the wilderness. It's ultimately a little disappointing how little meat there is in the game, but it's alright if you're into wandering around a decently-sized open world.
Splatoon 2 is good if you liked the first one. More of the same, but enough new stuff to warrant the game for a fan of the first.
Fast RMX is a decent anti-gravity racing game that scratches that Wipeout/F-Zero itch. It's an expanded port of Fast Racing Neo.
Snipperclips is alright if you have somebody to play it with. It's not worth it alone.
Most of the good games aren't exclusive. If you haven't played Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, that's a game worth playing through. Beats the shit out of Half Genie Hero.

No, unless you can find it super cheap and really want to replay it on the Switch. It has almost nothing else new and was released at full price. It's a good game, but not worth re-buying if you've already played through it.
Smash Ultimate might not have the stage builder, which would be a legitimate travesty (maybe Nintendo demanded that they not allow stage building, given that Brawl's Stage Builder became the easiest and most reliable way to hack the Wii). I don't know what they're talking about otherwise, as it looks good enough for a Smash Bros fan other than that.

Nope. Almost all of the cool shit from the previous smash games got cut and it seems much more emptier in terms of content then all of the other games this time around, including the 3ds version.
At least you can still make your own mii fighter, and also, slightly customize your figthers with spirits but no more custom movesets!
Truly this game is the Ultimate smash experience.

I just found out that Code of Princess EX, though some twist of divine intervention, has Japanese audio. Not only does it have Japanese audio, but it also has NO English dub at all. I played a hacked undub on the 3DS and loved it, the Japanese VA cast is straight all-stars.

There's a bit of clunky dialogue here and there, but the worst parts are the direct mistranslations of some ability text as well as vague translations of several abilities. Some examples:

What does the latter half mean specifically? Is it adding a % to that character's Atk stat? I'm actually going to find out soon since I'm making some Atk stat whores, but there's plenty of skills like this.
An example of a mistranslation is in the Charmer Pact in the middle attack slot. The game says
<Requires Master Charmer
<50% of slotted character's CHM will be deducted from Attacker's ATK, DEF, HIT, AVD
The actual translation* is
>Requires 1000 CHM
>50% of slotted character's CHM will be APPLIED to Attacker's ATK, DEF, HIT, AVD (Game is wrong!)
As you can see this is another example of vague translation as well as a serious mistranslation that changes the player's perception of the Pact.
That said I am enjoying the game in spite of NISA, but it has some balancing problems. Most of the game is pretty piss easy with some difficult bosses here and there. I actually got through most of the post-game until I finally hit a brick wall that demands I actually grind up my party. I'm legitimately interested to see it through though. The one place NISA's hack job wasn't that noticeable was the story.

It is pretty obvious and you are pretty retarded for not noticing it. Don't worry about the Karma though. It caps at 99 and you can do as many petitions as you want to clean your slate.
Later in the game you will encounter this fucking bird and killing them gives you 20 Karma a pop. Even worse, one of the best post-game grinding areas has them in addition to the Golden Bitterns you'll possibly be farming. Both mobs give Karma and every run I hit max Karma in no time. It's only a problem if they get a Gore Crit on the head of one of my puppets that I'm leveling.
That reminds me: Give your puppets an Even Lucky Number. There is a post-game Pact that gives 666% bonus exp, but only puppets with even numbers can equip to it.

After softmodding my Switch for Homebrew and Piracy I wasn't going to get Breath of the Wild because I had already played it on the Wii U. I unlocked all inventory, hearts, stamina, did all the shrines, divine beasts, beat ganon, found all the great faeries, did a ton of side quests, modified my inventory slots to obtain all the gear that is locked behind amiibo, etc. BUT I didn't do the DLC quests.
Anyways, I didn't want to do it all over again just to pick up where I left off to do the DLC quests. I had already dumped my save files with Save Mii on the Wii U so I could use them on Cemu and I actually found a converter that converts those dumped files to the Switch version of BotW and after restoring the saves with Checkpoint on the Switch that shit actually worked.
I couldn't believe it was actually possible to transfer Wii U saves to the Switch for BotW and I wouldn't have to start completely over. Homebrew really is amazing. Why does anyone use their consoles legitimately instead of softmodding it? The Switch natively doesn't even let you do anything with save files but delete them. With Homebrew you can do all kinds of shit that would be otherwise impossible or require you to pay for it.
