And then like 12? different types of weapons and then you've also got your CORE UNIT which is basically where you buy CPU components of varying shapes to try to jigsaw together in a set region. it's good shit.

The sequel, which wasn't translated because the censorship butchery on the game and anime made it bomb, fixed the problem there. It also had a good explanation for why everyone is so weak in the sequel (though I don't remember if they actually said it): Since all your special robots had to use a manufacturing company as a middle man, all their tech is now standard.

I did like how crazy and over the top the story got though.
