Because unlike consoles that hardware was not made for games. Games are an afterthought. Having all the consoles that ever existed you should never ever prefer to play on a mobile device. If you play a lot on the go then get a handheld.

e4122e  No.15779384

The only thing I've ever really played that was okay fun on a phone was some agar-type io game. Personally if playing a mobile game is that important to you that you can't use a PC to emulate it, I'd say Bloons or something similar you can just pause and get back to later. Most mobile games I've seen have been the "Play now, my lord" garbage strategy esque games where you need 15 new rubes to help complete your base that will take 24 years otherwise, before getting your shit stomped by some chunk who spends his gutter oil budget on the p2w currency.

If you can find an actually decent time killer in the sea of trash, by all means. But if you don't need a mobile game to pass the time at work, I'd say don't bother.

>Why do mobile games suck

They're like F2P MMOs on crack

The focus isn't on fun gameplay, but service bonuses.

The games literally play themselves, all you need to strive for is getting more in-game goods and limited time or daily events.

And the biggest problem is that the market favours this. So almost everything popular and new follows this formula.

In the end the only worthwhile games are emulated ones and a few puzzle ones that you may like depending on your tastes.

e4122e  No.15779419

Some roguelike games wouldn't be bad either, but I can't say much as my experience is pretty limited on mobile games in general. in a way I'm thankful my phone doesn't recognize the SD card as additional memory until I move things over to it. It has stopped me from downloading quite a few things

Actually OP if you really want something to download I'd say something Sudoku related. It's not a bad time.

Even then, the buttons (and other mechanical parts) can be replaced easily for cheap on handhelds. The battery is far more a tricky pony, since the PSP and GBA SP/DS had their own proprietary battery (with only China making them, probably still by now, although I heavily do not encourage spending money on those batteries with extended mAH, they die after two or three full charges). The Vita has a battery similar to those found on smartphones assuming you take account of the specs obviously.

Don't bother with any F2P games, virtually all of them are designed around nickling and diming you, even if the core gameplay isn't bad in theory.

Suprisingly, there's a few decent ports of PC games. I once bought a humble bundle with KOTOR and Shadowrun. KOTOR worked surprisingly well, the Shadowrun controls kinda sucked.

Most mobile games are going to consist of shallow gameplay and idle busywork. Nice for killing a little bit of time, but if you want to play them "right" you need to invest way more time, and if you want to play in an efficient, hassle-free way, you need to give them money or have a great deal of patience.

That said, the only mobile game I've kept installed on my phone for the past few years has been Final Fantasy Record Keeper. Decent mechanics, little in the way of whale baiting bullshit, shallow enough to leave on auto, and not so painfully involved that you don't need to play for 5 hours everyday to make sure you do all the miscellaneous dailies and absurd event shit just to keep progressing at a reasonable pace. Also, since Squenix isn't actively trying to shill it everywhere, like their dozen other mobile games, they're really generous about giving away lots of free items and shit.

Here's a few I can think of. Some may be ports.

>Battle for Wensoth

>Beat Hazard Ultra

>Card City Nights

>Little Stars For Little Wars

>REDCON

>Radiant Defense

>Galaxy on Fire 2, but only if you root your phone to revert prices to the ones on ios/java, because they made everything mad expensive to make you buy microtransactions which didn't even exist before. Sasuga.

>Kingdom rush

>OpenTyrian

>Mage Gauntlet

>Wayward souls

>Sentinel 3 and 4

Just don't fucking pay for them. If you REALLY want to play some mobage, Azur Lane and King's Raid are your best bet, they are by far the most generous and have the most gameplay.

But honestly, just put emulators on there. A few DS games like Advance wars work like a charm on a touchscreen.

>Run a search on jewgle for: "name of the app" "mod" "apk" then you may find a modded apk with the ads removed. A lot of them also have cheats and unlocks. If you're device is rooted just use AdAway to globally block ads on Android using a blocklist of ad host IPs.

Or just download DNS66.
