So there has been a huge stir in the Dota 2 community as of late that is very worrying and telling of the chinese domination of the videogame market and economic world in general, lets discuss these happenings and how they reflect on the future of the market and on a larger scale geopolitics with china, because that is what this is snowballing into, as well as discuss how this can be used to target and influence valve because a lot of people are unhappy with them right now.
To summarize
>2 Philippine origin players made "racist" comments towards chinese players, one in a professional match which was taken more seriously and he was fined, another in a pub match where the punishment was basically he just said he was sorry
>Chinese nationalists obsessed with dota/esports and china being numba 1 in every esport are rabid about this, don't accept any apology and actually apparently brought this to the attention of the local government of Chongqing, which resulted in the players being banned by the government from participating in the International dota tournament which has been shifted after 8 years of being in north america to chongqing, china.
>This has resulted in a massive protest from the rest of the non chinese professional scene and players as they are demanding the tournament be moved to another country, as well as everyone is coming out with their stories about how chinese players are extremely racist to any non chinese players and their org have a actively discriminated against malasyian/PH players and this is obvious china trying to bully the market into submission + theories about how this is related to tencent and their involvement of the new social score system.
>everyone is really butthurt at this point because valve issued a dota patch this morning so we they know and they haven't said anything at all, likely hoping it blows over.
Basically there is a huge amount of anti-china and potential anti-valve sentiment brewing right now and we would be fool not to capitalize on it.

I played a couple of games of Dota for the first time in 3 years (to the day) this week.
I really am saddened at the direction of where this game went.
Back in "the day", the game was all about being fun with fun modes like Diretide + Greeveling, now it is all about eSports and not at all about playing the game.
Also, the camera is still shit. Both of my games weren't fun because they were a constant fight with the camera. Also last attacks having a 3-4 second delay to them is just outright frustrating and I basically instantly remembered why I don't play the game.

The last update was the final nail in the coffin, whereas the previous changes could be argued to be positive or just different, now they've changed every single aspect of the game to "just press buttons to do things" nofun allowed braindead esports.
