the path finding is shit in combat and im still trying to find the collector dude. so far i made mage and realized the leveling system is never explained. the animations are better than baldurs gate but otherwise meh. it's like some weird bastard on the infinity engine that improved on some things and dropped the spaghetti on everything else.
story is ok so far but i cant into progression and nothing has really hooked me yet. the side quests are just goofy dumb shits.

It was never about combat. Whatever you do, start with around 18 CHA, then it's basically a fantastic game about etiquette and mindgames against beings far more powerful than yourself. Chris Avellone has a hardon for speech checks and it shows.
Do invest in some combat skills and followers though, otherwise you'll be forced to restart at Curst underground like I was.

Game was miserably boring with tedious combat, walls of text that feel more like the writers were waxing their own egos with philosophical concepts that might inspire a teenager. Due to the ways the planes are set up, it's pretty much impossible for one side to conquer the other for long. Abysstards would just lose their focus and get assblasted by 12 other planes+prime materials and the devils would eventually crumble to internal intrigue.
WoTC tried to fuck things back in the spellplague era, but quickly noticed the implications of their actions and tried to unfuck things. fucking with countless other things, ofc

He didn't get ressurected. He died and went to the Nine Hells as a weird devil creature that kept his human form.
Him knowing that he was going to hell was the reason why the TNO sought to become immortal in the first place, although he probably changed his mind after the incarnation number 548.
3f44cf No.15777031
I (re)played it recently, it was great overall, but I have some serious issues with the game. Mainly, it can't really decide if it wants to be a walking sim or RPG with combat. I read some guide telling me to get INT/WIS or I'll miss a lot of dialogue, so I played to be a mage (which you can't start as and you can totally miss the quest giving you the option…), but if I naively started playing, I'd probably make a low INT/WIS fighter that would miss the story. This is so important that I've seen people recommend statting like this even if you want to be a fighter- because combat doesn't really matter. They should have made it a bigger and more interesting part of the game

I got it for mobile too cause it was on sale for a buck and to see if IWD mobile would we worth the price. I would have like a portable IWD.
How the fuck do you manage to play with those unresponsive as fuck touch controls, even something as simple as dialogue options becomes a struggle.
I wish I could get my buck back, I would have preferred a mcburger of this shit.

8chan is the only place on the internet that I have found where people don't suck nameless dick. The game is overrated, story is nice and all, but the gameplay made me wish the game was a point & click adventure instead. Combat is just a waste of time and the role-playing choices only affect dialogue. Pump character points into INT/WIS/CHAR and avoid combat as much as you can. If you cannot talk your way out of it, then just run. Also, the game is a buggy piece of shit, even worse than the other Infinity Engine games.

17a05e No.15783349
It's the best visual novel ever made. The gameplay is shit, the replayability sucks, the music is good, the characters are god tier, and the story is god tier. It's my favorite game, but it has big flaws. I think what makes it so good is that the writing and story don't really ever veer into the pretentious territory, neither does it devolve into a good vs evil or law vs chaos, or saving the multiverse, or redeeming yourself, or whatever other cliches you can think of. It's a man's journey and nothing more: it starts and ends with TNO and the people he's influenced during his life. And the weirdest thing is that the current incarnation is the worst character in the game, your previous incarnations, your companions (past and present), and the major players in the story, all end up being more interested and fleshed out than TNO. But it also makes sense since it's an RPG.
