I unironically think that Assassin's Creed would've been better if instead of making it about ancient ayy lmaos and secret societies murdering each other over magic mcguffins to avoid directly tackling the subject matter of the Crusades, they just straight up said "yeah, this game is about you playing a Muslim assassin who kills Christians. And other Muslims too, because 12th century politics, yo". At least that would've been honest, you would know what you're getting into and we might even have gotten a decent Hashashin simulator out of it.

Things have been doing that for decades. The "diversity" plug is relatively modern, but hell, even halfchan's /b/ had that sort of thing at the top back in the day (not sure if it still does and I don't care to look).

This isn't a trigger warning. Trigger warnings are stupid and useless, but this is not one of them. Don't be a fucking retard who can't even manage simple definitions.

To be fair, on the original Assassin's Creed, that warning was less about "look how inclusive we are", and more about - "Holy shit, please don't Charlie Hebdo us. We have Muslims on our team too, and they said it was ok".

I'd like to see more of those disclaimers, personally - IF they were more like the Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics warnings on albums in the 90's, and being a strong indicator that you're probably going to see some fun salt-inducing depictions of ethnic groups. Sadly, these days it's more of a "Hugbox Approved" label.
