The entire reason for the update, was to patch out exploits, so currently, no CFW works, ruh-roh. Can't wait for the anons to bitch about how they updated and fucked themselves over.

You might be surprised at the size of the Switch if you've only seen them in videos and such. 10cm x 23.8cm with Joycons. It's actually possible to pocket it in my case. That said I don't view it as a handheld, PSP/Vita and 3DS are the much better choices there. As for the library, some indie stuff, the obvious first-party stuff, and a few ports. I'm a fan of portable Dark Souls at least.

They can patch out the RCM bug if you send it to Nintendo, but not through a firmware update. Models manufactured around July onwards don't have the bug, similar to the Wii and its boot2 glitch, but unlike the 3DS which didn't bother fixing its bootrom ever.

Switch is actually somewhat insidious about software updates. Like, it will auto-download them. Then if you have multiple user accounts you might accidentally confirm installing it if you're expecting the account selection on starting a game, and it defaults to yes for update nags. It bit me once with updating to 5.1.0.

Well, I wanted to eventually buy an original Switch off my brother but he always has his shit on the latest version because he really doesn't care. I didn't really care either but Nintendo is now going after CFW with their version updates so that could have fucked me

But honestly, overall I really don't give a shit anymore, the only game for the Switch I wanted to even play was Breath of the Wild and I got a superior version with superior framerates running on my PC now anyways and there's really nothing else I am interested enough in to get one for. Maybe Mario and Smash Ultimate but its not enough for me to justify the price of a Switch right now, not even a used one, I can just wait for the emulator to be able to run it at a good framerate.

@everyone ,https://twitter.com/elmirorac/status/1066106288747237377, the major CFW-breaking firmware 6.2.0 has been cracked. There are no ETAs for when Hekate and Kosmos and the other SDFiles will implement the fixes to include the latest firmware, but the light is on the horizon.
