That would honestly shock me, considering if it is disc compatible with everything, they don't have as much reason to sell the same games over and over again.

Backwards compatibility usually helps ease people into a new system as they can at least have something to play on it if the launch titles aren't of as much interest, but the PS2 compatibility was culled to reduce the user-end price by reducing the production price. And now the PS4 has had NO physical backwards compatibility at all, and not even a PS1 Classics on its PSN. Given the trend, I would really doubt backwards compatibility will be coming back for a new system.
