Why all modern western games feel so boring and devoid of life?

I thought the game was gonna be at least fun, but no, I'm disappointed in all of the possible aspects, not even the artwork or visuals are good.

>I thought the game was gonna be at least fun

Serious question, what exactly gave you the impression that it was going to be anything more than a cynical vehicle for microtransactions?

38f5da  No.15745116

I didn't know this game came out.

The NDA was dropped and the beta starts in two days.

>>15745100

Idk, it looked a bit fun in the gameplay, also I liked all of valve games before this one.

It's not even out but it will be dead on arrival.

The entire appeal of card games is how you get in for free but they milk you for the good stuff. This thing has a paywall at start and probably other ingame purchases. No way people will eat this up.

54eba0  No.15745133

you can't get cards for free

You liked TF2, CS:GO, and assfaggots 2? Nevermind then, you'll probably love this.

Valve hasn't made a game themselves in 14 years. Everything else is redone old games like cs and dota.

They are creatively bankrupt just like blizzard.

54eba0  No.15745163

18EUR of cards. But no more than that

i sold my spare keys for $80 and $60, hope you didnt drop that much on one

probably got more enjoyment out of that than the game itself

41c82e  No.15745407

You know valve needs a new game to make a sequel of it.

After all, their games go up to 2 and stop there.

41bb5a  No.15745426

Isnt this the only TCG video game where you actually trade cards? Hell you can sell off some TF2 and Dota 2 skins for cards.

41c82e  No.15745435

>>15745426

Can you turn Dota2 skins into cards or you mean just sell it on Steam? Transforming skins into actual cards based on those skins would be a very interesting idea

e72a3e  No.15745537

>>15745426

Actually, you can't.

The only way to get cards is to purchase them off the steam market place. which valve takes a 3% cut from on all transactions

ddc40a  No.15745541

>>15745329

Get the fuck out.

41bb5a  No.15745552

>>15745435

I mean sell them off or just trade them

e72a3e  No.15745570

>>15745552

There isn't going to be any trading at launch though.

You can only buy the packs goy!

29810b  No.15746909

>game has upfront cost of 20 bucks

>despite this, you have to pay for more cards at 2bucks per pack

>gamemodes with rewards exists, but they all require you to pay up extra

>can't even trade cards, all transactions go through the steam market where valve takes a cut

>draft is paid only, the only free modes are to play with your own card deck or play with a preconstructed deck

>The starting heroes you get for free can also be found again in the packs, giving you extra duplicates that nobody will buy and have literally zero value

This dumpster-fire is incredible, even fucking reddit is up in arms.

I can't wait to see the steam market open for Artifact and seeing those insane fucking card prices. 200$ decks in MtG will be a fucking joke after this.

>>15745085

>Why all modern western games feel so boring and devoid of life?

Videogames became too big, and profiteering off of retards has become the norm.

It's a Valve "game", Reddit will buy it. I'm sure once some retard datamines it and finds a vague reference to a Half Life enemy in the engine, they'll feel justified in dropping shekels on it, as that's clear confirmation that Half Life 3 is totally coming, guys!

d05a64  No.15747043

>>15745085

>I thought the game was gonna be at least fun

with all we've seen about it you still thought that? it was a blatant cash grab that went after some of that hearthstone money. it became more than obvious in the past few months. how could you possibly think this was gonna be any good?

4329c6  No.15747503

>>15745147

>>15745335

I hope that's Valve manipulating the store's algorithms.

>>15746997

Every time someone finds a reference to half life in a non half life game it's just because Valve is lazy and doesn't clean up their project files before publishing them.

1eeb24  No.15747545

It's like they want to fail

f6c161  No.15747874

Isn't it great that we now invented the "Pay 2 Pay 2 Play" model?

>>15745537

>which valve takes a 3% cut from

"3%" better stand for 15% in retard-speech, because that's the cut that Valve will actually take.

fb1639  No.15747901

>>15745329

Don't get into card games, they are a net negative on your life.

But if you are going to get into a card game, play one thats free ffs. I'd recommend mtga over this pile of shit any day.

7a25ff  No.15747904

New games often get on the top-sellers for obvious reasons regardless of how popular they might actually be (remember how Hatred was top-seller for a short while?). Having said that, it is a Valve game, despite how much their reputation has tanked loads of people are still going to buy anything that has their name on it.

A shame it's a card game because the soundtrack is good.

This. Valve have basically stopped functioning as a real company.

a02c08  No.15764266

Cactus spines look more harmful than they actually are. The real danger is the poison.

0c693c  No.15764408

This is going to fail for the simple reason that it's confusing as *fuck* to watch on a stream. Watching the streamer flip between three boards is like watching tv with someone who changes channels.

Ontop of that, the rare cards have varying rarity, and the useful ones are uber-rare, while the shitty rares are common rares. TCG players are used to gettting jewed, but even they have limits. Apparently kripp (yes I'm a faggot) spent upwards of 300 dollary doos and didn't get any of the good cards he needed to build the decks he wanted to try.

It's *extremely* jewish, moreso than usual. It's also unfun to watch on a stream. This is DOA.
