I came to say Shadow Warrior 2, but the game is probably a 7/10 on a good day.
The game has quite a bit going for it, if superficially.
>solid gameplay
>a complete game
>wide variety of weapons and ammo types
>can hold 8 separate weapons at once
>melee has special attacks
>interesting customization options that really spice things up
>really anti-PC humor
>tons of secrets
>plenty of side content and decent replayability
Like I said, some of these are superficial at best, but it qualifies as a game. I am torn on the humor, though; Lo Wang leans very heavily on the dick jokes, but the reload taunts are a very nice polishing touch. I didn't expect the trans jokes, though. Nearly busted out laughing when I heard them.
All of that aside, there are numerous problems sith the game that bring it down from an 8 or 9.
>the story is lackluster with a cliffhanger ending that makes no sense
>game assumes you played the first game, but it
>forgettable characters
>some glitches that force you to restart missions
>increased difficulties just make the game more of a gear and skill check rather than adding new content
>gotta hunt for those weapons that drop from bosses
>limited locations abused by just limiting the boundaries of each mission
>money is practically unlimited if you grind for skill points and/or search for optional unique bosses
>blatantly ripping off Diablo-style unique/superior enemy enhancements I can understand people enjoying this, and it's a tossup for me, but I don't feel that it adds enough to the game.
>not as fun without friends
<there's a fucking memory leak
Take it as you will, but the game IS fun, if a bit grindy. I just left it as is after completing the game on Hard fairly easily, then jumping to Insane 4 and getting my ass beat to the point where I had to cheese the resurrection skill Borderlands-style just to get through large waves. I could be tempted to get back into it if I had a party to join, but I refuse to join a public game.
