I was upgrading recently and was astoneshed how shitty those UV monitors are especially with "muh bent" meme. Those "sides" also have different color/light balance from center of screen, like blue looks purplish etc. And what is worse 49 inch 20:5(or whatever that shit is) looks visually smaller than 32" 16:9.

If you never used an ultrawide before be prepared to visit WSGF every time you install a game to find fixes that will make it run on that resolution. Getting games running on ultrawide or multi-monitor is a hassle to put it mildly.

~$300 range isn't very great right now, so no. 590 price to performance isn't stellar. Low room for overclocking on an already long in the tooth gpu architecture, plus the power consumption is abysmal, like you said.

If you want good price/performance right now, EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SSC DT GAMING on newegg is roughly $220. Very similar performance to the RX 590, but much better power consumption, lower price, and probably much longer support lifespan. This is assuming you just want a stable 60fps on 1080p modern titles. Good luck with your build, and remember that /tech/ has a consumer advice thread up at all times.
