Only thing weaker was the first part but that was a starting point where it didn't know where it wanted to go yet.

Part 5 isn't done yet but from what I've seen and remembered reading from the manga so far, for Jojo anime, the best goes from 4-2-3-5-1. 4 & 2 can switch depending on mood.

When I read Part 5 (re trans) a few months ago, I could easily see it as the best because it has the best pacing of the series (next to 7).

Part 3 and Part 4 were both hampered by odd pacing and being a bit overly long at parts (more so part 3 with the latter). Part 2 I'm willing to see defended, it's easily the turning point when Araki matured as a mangaka.

There's nothing really "weak" about part 5, it has the best fights, some of the best characters, and it never really misses a beat pacing wise. Part 3 was too long, and the late bits of Part 4 went on a bit too much.

Part 6 was basically a rush to end the story after they left the prison, I think part 6 didn't do too well readership-wise.

It had the best stands, the best fights, shit felt real for a change since the end of Stardust Crusaders, Dio constantly peeks through Giornio's actions in a way I didnt really appreciate the first time I read it. It's just really good.

Giornio is the least prevalent jojo, Bruno is twice as fleshed out as him and had much a much more meaninful character arc then Giornio ever did, Gio just hitched along for Brunos ride

And for some reason that I can't explain it felt really lacking and kinda mediocre in a way after I finished the manga a few years ago, I couldnt quite catch exactly why I felt that way about it but the other parts left me at least feeling somewhat more satisfied with the exception of part 4.

I thought there would be more villains after Kira, and by part 4 ending right after his death I felt that the part was seemingly cut short. It felt much more like a conclusion in the anime though because animation really has a way to bring the tone of the story to life rather than just reading it.

I read the colored adventure with some other fags a while back. Interaction between the gang members and Bruno being a proper protagonist were the highlights. The lowlights were, as you said, Giorno not really doing much of anything, but being praised for everything along with his constantly changing stand ability and the fact that he never made anything really cool with it. In that regard, Dio's other bastard was better since he made anime real. Giorno could have done that at any time, with no drawbacks, but chose not to. Joking aside it would have been awesome to see him make any biological construct from dragons to people to clones of himself.

Araki dropping Fugo because he didn't know what to do with him is correct, but it's also incomplete. Araki was planning on Fugo to show up as an antagonist after he left the group. However he was betrayed by a close friend at the time and was too sad to write a betrayal sub-plot. I've also heard that Purple Haze was difficult to write around.

That said I don't really understand how you thought there would be more villains after Kira in part 4. Having read the other parts you should have been able to tell that 4 went on for longer than any other and it built up Kira as the big bad for almost half the part.

I can kinda see what the other anon said about Giorno being more like Dio in subtle ways that aren't noticeable at first. His passiveness is just like Dio who didn't mind letting others do his dirty work. I will probably appreciate him more in the anime as the stoicism doesn't seem to come across very well in the manga, but our collective impression of him was that he started off cool, but developed the personality of a block of wood.

P5 has the best atmosphere. The road trip aspect keeps it fresh and interesting the entire time. And the fact that the MCs are just a bunch of teenagers without guidance, trying to escape and at the same time defeat the villain also makes it great. It takes time for character building shenanigans but doesn't go overboard with it and stray from the main point either. It's got love.

I think jojo really only falls off at stone ocean, however, I haven't finished steel ball run yet or even begun on jojolion. That said, steel ball run's been great so far and I'm not disappointed. While I liked the villain of stone ocean, it just kind of felt like a filler part. The characters didn't seem that fleshed out and Jolyne just felt like a poor imitation of Jotaro. Jotaro's determination and the want for his approval were pretty much her only colors. The side characters didn't help either. Plankton was interesting but got killed, weather and pink hair were okay, I suppose but hermes and the kid were just nothing but plot devices. Haven't seen side characters of an arc that bland until that point.

What's the best sub group for Part 5 right now? I want to be able to watch it without the shitty copyright safe stand names. I don't even understand why fan translators do that. Are they afraid of being sued? They're not even making a profit on doing it so there'd be no point for any company to sue them.
