AAA is blockbuster, in every sense of the world, they are the capeshit, transformers, and Dwayne Jonhson summer movies of the videogames. Safe decisions, more money in marketing than in production, aimed to a wild demographic and so on. The problem is that people who want to casualize games didn't understand yet that AAA is shit by definition, just like capeshit. The people that consume then don't care about gameplay, don't care about mechanics, and don't care who is making what, they just want the "trend of the moment" with apparent high production value. AKA shitloads of CGI/Good graphics A producer only have the power to make a game, or movie, become a trend if they invest so much money on marketing that it surpasses the cost of development of the game itself.
The videogame industry is still young, and didn't understand that the gamer demographic is divided in groups and classes, and don't matter what you slap on the cover, they won't just buy anything. With time, I believe developers will understand the obvious: "My game is niche, the playerbase I have is niche. Either I focus on keep pleasing then or I start to pander to casuals, simplifly the mechanics to the lower common denominator, and invest heavyly on marketing, something that will 100% cost me the niche demographic". You just can't have both.
About you getting angry about their existence: Yes, I am also heavyly displeased of AAA and I avoid then like the plague. I don't care about your Spiderman, RDR, AssCreed, or BFV, and I don't wanna know. BUT, people who consume that shit are nothing but cattle and they deserve to be treated like cattle, better that they stay on their circles consuming their shit, then on the playerbase of games I enjoy demanding stupid changes. The only thing I want is for developers to understand they can't have the AAA demographic if they don't have money enough to invest in marketing to shift the collective conscience of the sheeple for then to take your product as the trend of the month.
