I really just want consoles dead. No more devkits, no approval process, no walled garden, no exclusives. Just let me run/write what I want from who I want on my hardware.
>Maybe game pad add-ons on the sides could fare better
I don't own a Switch, but the JoyCons seem unpopular, I've even seen a lot of people using standalone Bluetooth gamepads with them. Also, as you implied, my personal ideal would be something more like a PSP, the Switch is bigger and heavier than some netbooks!

>Blame the EU for imposing its "muh ecology" laws on draw power towards console manufacturers if anything
Those regulations only apply to sleep mode, menu navigation, video playback, etc., because older consoles were too retarded to implement dynamic clocking and core sleep. There are no limits on full draw gaming operation.
>You dont need a powerful desktop to play old shit
Depends on how future-proofed and modded it is. Either way, being able to play anything you want off the same machine is very convenient.
>I dont also see how fixing pc-exclusive fuckups on lot of ports should be praised as an advantage
Console originals have the same problems. Even simple stuff, like controls hardcoded to a dumb layout, 720p30 lock, or loading screens regardless of how fast your SSD is.
>Upgrading stopped being an argument in regards of PC tbh with the bullshit around going on.
It's not as good, sure, but being able to take a rig from obsolete to current gen with an $80 GPU upgrade is still great. And both the DDR4 pricefixing cartel and Ponziminers are being taken care of as we speak.
>And the ability to repair electronics isnt exclusive to a computer.
No, but being able to swap out a dead component without even a soldering iron is.
>you're willing to also buy into the Android/goyphone meme too.
It sucks, but it's still freer and technically superior to any alternative. Much like complaints about lazy ports to PC sucking, it isn't that it's worse than console, but that in many regards it's not as much better as it should be.
