Make sure you're not playing on Hard mode, that's meant for NG+. Otherwise, if you don't have high enough damage then you'll do 1 damage for every hit. Don't know what you're fighting but that could be the problem. If so then you need to grind (as assassin for phys damage or sorcerer for magic damage), get better gear, or use items like periapts for temporary increases.

It depends on your gear, build, playstyle etc, but keep in mind you can kill the final final boss in under 20 seconds

I found Dragon's Dogma to be more of a chore than an amusing diversion. While it is a good game, I personally don't find it to be fun. It shall ever collect dust in my collection of bastard games.

If you just want to fucking reck shit get some decent daggers. Upgrade those motherfuckers as much as you can. Learn Skullsplitter (from strider vocation) jump up in the air and use Skullsplitter. As far as physical builds go nothing comes even close to the insane ammount of dmg skullsplitter does. On small mobs it will only hit a couple times but on bosses with larger hitboxes it will connect and hit the boss an unreasonable ammount of times.

I have tried minmaxing the last three characters I made nothing came even fucking close to just using skullsplitter on bosses.

If you go this path just make sure you don't dump into magic, level up using assasin/strider/warrior for some health if you want. Assasin gives the most phys atk from leveling but you need to actually be strider to use skullsplitter, so switching between those two is a good idea. Also fuck magic classes in general they look amazing but are boring to play.

So if you leveled as a Sorc and then decided to go with a Strength build, you'd be down a whopping 698 Strength. This is larger than the difference between completely un-upgraded and gold dragonforged BBI weapons. and unsurprisingly, because of how the damage threshold system works, this absolutely fucks you in the ass.

Because of the way damage calculation works. If you don't do enough extra damage than the cap for not taking damage the target has, you will do much less. This also means that if you stack stats and periapts to go way overboard, you can do an insane amount of damage, enough to roll damage over on some targets past the max so they still don't actually take much (online Ur Dragon is an example of this).

Online ur dragon has a damage cap that if reached makes your damage that round not sync with the server that handles the ur dragon's health. This is to prevent cheating.

Ignore this post, always play on hard mode because the alternative is steamrolling through a borefest. Remember to use consumeables (periapts are very strong and you should use them regularly against large monsters) as well as use the environment around you to win.

I feel bad for Daimon, he was a fool but I'd probably done the same in his shoes.

Daimon was a boy that was a adopted by an Arisen whom he loved as a mother. This Arisen defeated her Dragon but got fucked by the Seneschal and she became the new Dragon. Daimon fell in love with his "mother's" pawn who was almost human because of the bestowal of spirit. He was chosen as the new Arisen, and later when he was confronted with the choice of sacrificing his love or slaying his formed mother he cursed the world and his fate and in turn got cursed and turned in the monster we fight.

They can augment your attack power up to 4 times at once, and I'm pretty sure the deeper levels of Bitterblack and everything post-dragon is balanced around that.

Kinda of an unfair comparison, Dark Souls was a hit game not just in sales but also critically so much so it spawned its own genre. It was also that rare breed of a game which had both vidya autists /v, jorunos and casuals agree on its merits. Now, whether you like DS or not the game had an impact on the industry, for better or for worse.

Dragon's Dogma while it was a successful title it came out in a period where Capcom was bleeding money and acting really retarded and desperate, so much so that they outsourced a lot of their franchises, which gave us such gems as DmC, Bionic Commando 2009, etc. For what I can gather they wanted to make a sequel but this "sequel" ended up becoming DDO an MMO which wasn't as successul as DD, probably because it was only released in Japan and had little marketing behind it.

Capcom has gone through some restructuring over the last couple of years, given how they are releasing ports and remasters of most of their games (except for Godhand, goddammit Crapcom) and reviving dead franchises, so maybe they'll make DD2 after Itsuno finishes DMC/v but I fear they might fall prey to trends.

Trolls are one of the most difficult boss creatures in the game though. No crippling weak points like most of the other bosses.

I assume you mean ogres. Ogres are tough because they have layers get dropped on you where if you fight them like you've been fighting everything else up to that point it'll be hard. The first ogre is fought in a place where he'll probably fall right off the edge into the bottom of the everfall after enraging, and it can be avoided completely, I guess that's your one warning that they're going to be tough customers.

The secret to beating them lies in making them fall over and hitting their head while they are down, otherwise you'll probably only be doing chip damage until you're much stronger. If you're a warrior its as simple as spamming the jump attack on their head. If you can get them, sleep arrows also set them up for you to hit their weak spot, since they are vulnerable to the sleep status. They're easier to knock over when they're enraged but they can oneshot you with their swinging fists if you're not overlevelled.

You're led from cassardis, to the encampment, to grandsoren, maybe visiting witchwood before. Once you're in gran soren, you're instructed to go to the pawn guild then into the everfall before you get the Wyrm Hunt License and the game opens up. The Everfall Ogre is the first ogre a new player is likely to meet. If you're going off the rails to explore, because the game lets you, then you've got no grounds to complain about fighting an enemy too tough for you.

There are three ogres in the mine that don't respawn, in the wilted forest there are three spots, that spawn a pair of ogres each, at night, most notably right outside the abbey. If you take the quest to escort Reynard to the greatwall encampment, easily the hardest quest available at the time its given, you will learn about all the spots that you or your foppish escortee can get fucked at.

You hit them when they're downed in the head. Hitting in the head to knock them down only works if you got a lot of knockdown power, which is the Warrior's greatest strength. Otherwise, use sleep arrows, sopor. Throwing skulls at them for easy curse debuffs is also viable. Another thing you can do to cheese anything since learning fights and overcoming difficulty seems too much for the typical "gamer" is stack conqueror's periapts use throwblasts.

Warrior jumping light attack is spammable and the most efficient way to stack knockdown/stagger. Otherwise you can use the faster warrior skills, If I wasn't going to be using Arc of Deliverance I'd run Pommel Bash, Savage Lunge, Whirlwind slash.
