Depends. Depression tends to slow reflexes which can lead to a losing streak, worsening the depression. 2) A literal jew that goes for your wallet. Usually a male.

If you're down in the dumps that's fine it happens, take a nap or partake in a low stress hobby like watching some anime or a video game that's easy to wander around in but you have to get back on the metaphorical horse before you can't easily get back on it

Depression is your body's reaction to inflammation signals. Video related. There are numerous possible causes for such signals to be perpetually generated but here are some of the big ones. Also note that the following treatment options also have tremendous overlap in helping with ADHD, though neurochemical precursors like B vitamins have a more important and complex (potentially positive or negative) role in that.

1. Diets with excessive carbohydrates. Constant elevated blood sugar will act as a hormone (testosterone) disruptor and damages many parts of the body through glycation. Try to keep sugars under 100 grams a day. Some people find under 20 grams or carnivore only diets work best for them, but take note if you go that low it is HIGHLY recommended you read up on the minimum suggested protein and electrolyte intake, or you'll likely have a bad time. Modern fruits are literally candy and just about as devoid of nutrition, eat sparingly. Also note that the Glycemic Index and "simple vs complex" carbohydrates ideas are bullshit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QN9fT_IfEEA

2. Industrial seed oils (vegetable, soy, canola, safflower, corn oil and other artificial fats like margarine.) are immediately inflammatory having been removed from their protective antioxidants and oxidized with heat, light exposure and time, as well as physically warped with pressure This generates a shit ton of free radicals and lipid peroxides. These bad oils are moved around your cholesterol system, causing malfunctions in both the lipoproteins carrying them and the cells they are delivered to. They essentially act like carpet bombs throughout your cardiovascular system. Remove seed oils from your diet and stick with fresh saturated (animal fats, clarified butter, ghee) and monounsaturated fats avocado and coconut oil) which are resistant (but will eventually degrade, keep cool and out of light) to degradation. Extra virgin olive oil is good, but should be heated as little as possible. Grass-fed butter often has the benefit of being higher in omega-3s, which are not as inflammatory as omega-6's. This video explains how carbohydrate and seed oil toxicity work together to cause damage to the body (most notably being responsible for cardiovascular disease): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFkrGIYIM74

Dealing with those two alone will result in most people seeing significant mental improvements and gradual weight loss. It also eliminates most of the supermarket. Time to learn to use a slow/pressure cooker.

3. Electrolytes. Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium. You most likely need more of all of these, particularly if you would describe yourself as having "brain fog". Salt does not cause cardiovascular disease (again, that's excess carbohydrates and industrial oils). Eat as much salt as you think tastes good on your food. Your ancestors put salt on fucking everything all day long. Too little and you are stressing the body, forcing the kidneys to spend energy to preserve and recycle sodium rather than just piss it out. If salt gets too low, your body will start pulling it from your bones to survive. Low salt also raised heart rate. If you have anxiety, then that's a sure sign you need more magnesium. Magnesium citrate works, but is a laxative and you better have a bathroom around in the next 1-3 hours. I Take 400mg of chelated mag morning and night, which doesn't have the laxative problem.

e125ae  No.15697953

File: 035a5fb36a7c65e⋯.jpg (138.3 KB, 1024x768, 4:3, depression.jpg)

>>15697948

4. Stop starving yourself of other essential vitamins and nutrients. Learn how to make bone broth (for the collagen to repair your starved and inflamed joints) and eating organ meats like heart, skin and giblets will provide lots of what you need. Slow cooking is the best way to prepare beef heart or chicken hearts and giblets, with some basic vegetables like carrots, celery and onions. Unflavored gelatin is also collagen.

5. Allergies. This one is a pain in the ass to try and nail down what specifically is effecting you, and a bigger pain to deal with it as a factor if it's unavoidable. It could be food allergy or an environmental allergy, and range from so subtle you would never tell without a skin prick test, to outright life threatening. Some people are even extremely sensitive to the histamines found in food. like cooked/processed meats.

6. Food sensitivities. These are different from allergies, and are the result of partially broken down compounds getting into the bloodstream where they can cause inflammation, disruption and psychiatric issues. Casein from dairy and gluten from wheat are the two biggest possibilities: https://kellybroganmd.com/two-foods-may-sabotage-brain/

The nightshade family of plants (peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, tobacco) contain compounds that some people have similar issues with.

7. Supplements. I'm generally not a fan of supplements, but zinc and iodine are pretty hard to get enough of if you don't eat a lot of beef or seafood respectively. Magnesium would also fall under supplements as well. The turmeric extract Cucurmin is a well proven anti-inflammatory, and appears safe for long term intake and as best I can tell doesn't stress the liver or digestive system. You may also find a B-vitamin complex helpful until you've fixed your diet.

8. Sleep. Sleeping and waking up at consistent times is also very important. Remove sources of blue light 1-2 hours before bed. Don't rely on melatonin or your brain will become dependent on an external source.

9. Exercise. Yes, it's great and has been proven time and again to help, but generally telling people to go and do it is fucking stupid and useless. A depressed person is functioning on an instinctual level to expend as little energy as possible because their body thinks it is sick. I only started excising after I fixed most my issues with diet.

10. Environmental and emotional stress also generate inflammation markers. The easiest way to deal with these is arson and murder, respectively. Alternatively you can clean and more importantly re-arrange your living space, and take effort make it more pleasant to be in.

I escaped my depression by looking backward. A thousand years ago, no one had anti-depressants. Few 'lucky' degenerates had drugs, but rarely to excess. What most did have, however, was a use. I firmly believe that for many people, depression is caused by not feeling useful–or better known as not having a 'purpose'. To that effect, I'm sure many in the past also suffered from depression, especially those that lived in large towns and cities. If you want to escape depression, you have to find something to do that makes you feel useful. The need to belong and feel productive is humanly universal.

As for video games, I play the shit out of CK2 and dorffort in my downtime. Sitting back, thinking about strategy and making choices is great mental stimulation that keeps me distracted. They also don't overload my brain with feel-good juice that I should only be getting from actually doing shit.

I don't eat that much and having been doing "OMAD" (one meal a day), which was fine when I was losing weight (was 225 in february, currently 165), but now I really do need to up my calories if I want to sustain. I still don't really have much for breakfast lunch suggestions, however here's what a typical dinner looks like for a few days.

For example:

Two days ago started some bone broth

-Took some bones out of the freezer, stuck them in my slow cooker and covered with water

-Added a dash of vinegar (helps dissolve some of the bone. Don't want much)

-Added a chopped yellow onion

-Added a bunch of spices. Whole cloves, whole allspice, 3 bay leaves, a ceylon cinnamin stick. Experiment and do whatever.

-Set on high heat.

Yesterday I baked chicken drumsticks.

-Used paper towels to pat dry

-Put garlic power, ceylon cinnamon, black pepper, tumeric and seasoned salt in a bag, and coated the drumsticks

-I like to use wax paper or foil on my pans.

-Put the drumsticks in the overn at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

-I saved the drippings in a little glass bowl and put in fridge.

Today I made steak

-Patted the steak dry and put a bunch of salt and pepper on it.

-I put it on a little wire rack, and put that on a pan in the oven set at 200 degrees

-I chopped up half a red onion and and handful of mushrooms

-as time got close to remove the steak, I then preheated a pan (about setting 7 on the dial) adding a spoonful of ghee to it.

-After 25 minutes I removed the steak, and used tongs to hold the fatty edges in the pan till they turned brown.

-Then I layed the steak flat in the pan, flipping every minute or so.

-After a few flips I put it on a plate and let it sit in the oven (which was now off)

-I then put the onions and mushrooms in the pan, along with yesterdays chicken drippings and cooked those for a bit (about setting 6 on the dial)

-Once starting to brown to my liking I pulled out the steak and put the onions and mushrooms on top.

-Fuck yes, it's perfect once again.

-I also removed and strained the bone broth, which is in the fridge cooling.

Tommorrow I'm making beef heart stew

-In the morning I take the cooled bone broth and if there is a lot of solidified fat on top, I'll remove that, maby save it I dunno I got plenty of fat for cooking for now.

-I'll take a big old beef heart and remove all the fat from that, then cut it into chunks.

- I'll put in a bunch of spices, like red pepper and black pepper, and whatever else seems good.

-Then I'll peel something like 3 bulbs of garlic (Look on youtube for quick ways to do that) and put those on top

-Then I'll add enough bone broth so that everything is just covered.

-Then I'll put about 4 chopped celery sticks as the next layer

-Finally I'll put 3 chopped carrots as the next layer, sprinkling with ceylon cinnamon tumeric, and some fresh green herbs.

-8-10 hours at high heat and everything should be perfect.

Everything but the steak takes fuckall time to do.

It's best to be inspired by traditional cooking across all cultures. Look at how others maximized the flavor of their foods, and you'll find it a lot easier to east something beside potato chips and ice cream. If your food tastes bad, then you need to realize that there's a lot that can be done to fix that. Unfortunately there's no quick and easy way to pass off what I've learned from my own exploration, you'll have to explore for yourself. Slow/Pressure cookers are quick and easy ways to prepare lots of food.

The primary thing to eat will be meat, and as much as the whole animal as possible.

-Eat the skin, which is full of collagen and nutrients

-Eat the fat, which counter to government propaganda, is good for you and satiating.

-Eat the organs, like heart, liver, gizzards. You don't need artificial multivitamins if you are eating organ meats. A healthy living animal contains everthing you need to be a healthy living animal.

-Make bone broth. Save all the bones, gristle and vegetable end cuttings that you would normally toss and put them in a bag in the freezer. The nutrient load of bone broth is honestly overrated, but properly made is a great source of collagen (it should turn to gello when cold) and more importantly, flavor.

Other tips

-When making stews, after you are done cooking, you can increase the heat a bit and evaporate some of the excess water. If your attempts at stews or soups taste bland, it's likely there is too much water and this will solve that. A simmer preserves flavor better than a boil.

-When making stews, add salt last, because you'll likely evaporate some of the water. It's easier to add salt than remove it

-When making stews, remove fat from meat as in the heat it'll just render out and turn to a layer of oil which isn't enjoyable. Safe that chicken or beef fat in the freezer, and throw it in the pan when cooking eggs or something.

-Don't burn bacon to a crisp, your just destroying a lot of the nutritional value and creating excess free radicals. Cook it gently, and cover the pan with a lid. It'll take a little longer but it's pretty worth it. I like to buy packs of "ends and pieces" from winco, which are very cheap. Not a fan of some I got from walmart which has a bit of that nitrate/hotdog taste.

-nitrates and nitrites are found in both processed/cured meats, as well as a lot of vegatables. They are perfecly fine at reasonable levels, however excessive heat turns them into nitrosamines which are an issue. Another reason to cook your bacon gently.

-There's two types of chemical cooking you should understand, The Maillard reaction and Hydrolysis.

—The Maillard reaction happens when there isn't any water present, and is the browning you see on meats due to the reactions of amino acids. This is the most delicious form of cooking, and is why patting a steak dry with a paper towel is important, until that moisture is gone you are just steaming that steak and turning it grey.

—Hydrolysis is when heat and lots of water is present, but the heat isn't high enough to turn the food into a tightly denatured mess. This is steaming and stewing and is the healthiest form of cooking, simultaneously preserving that largest majority of nutrients as well as making them easily available.

-Use spices, lots of spices, of all different types. Ceylon cinnamon is great on meats (don't eat any other kind though, all other types are toxic to the liver if eaten in quantity)

-Don't heat fats to their smoking point. For high heat cooking, ghee, clarified butter, coconut oil and avocado oil are good goto's.

-Oven temperatures are wildly inancurate, generally at least 15-25 degrees off, and sometimes are over 60 fucking degrees off. Get a oven safe temp gauge to check where yours is at.

-You save bacon fat by putting it through a coffee filter into a jar. Then just keep in the fridge for many months of longevity.

-Look into "spatchcocking" a turkey.

It occurs to me I got a little away from your question. The following assume that you are intending to avoid carbohydrates in order to reverse the chronic toxic effects from lifelong over-consumption.

Meat, as mentioned.

Fish and seafood is a mixed bag. It can be great for you, but some things can be high in mercury, and other things like tilapia can have high omega-6's (inflammatory). Moderation is key.

Vegetables. Some things like onions are great, but can have a surprising number of carbs, so be wary. My staples here are carrots, celery, onions and garlic.

Cheese if good for most people. Check out the specialty cheese isle and try different things. Feta and a dry mozz go good with eggs. Wet mozz is great as a stand alone snack.

Tomatoes are fine in moderation, but like onions beware the carbs if you overdo them.

As best I can tell, squash/pumpkin are fine in moderation.

Stay away from potatoes. Carrots, Turnips and rutabegas are better

Stay way from grains. Barley and rye are decent to have occasionally

Stay away from lentils/beans. If you do have them, either painstakingly soak/wash them properly (to remove all the estrogen, toxins and anti nutrients) or sprout them.

Stay away from fruits, which have been selectively bred to be no better than pesticide covered candy. They provide nothing you can't get elsewhere.

Stay away from any "acellular carbs". This means all forms of sugar, such as table sugar, honey, hfcs, etc. It's all straight poison for any purpose other than rare holidays. Honey is literally just liquid fructose and glucose and a random mix of other carbohydrates, it's not suddenly good for you just because a bee puke it out. When properly used it IS good for wounds though.

Don't eat pumpkin seeds. Those are literally estrogen pills. I'm not sure about other seeds, but research those too if you have them.
